Paintbrush in hand,
the canvas,
splattered green.
An alcoholics mind:
cynical.
He believed in one thing,
red,
freedom in a jacket.
So he went.
a barricade,
the optimists surrounding him.
He stood,
for who he believed,
until green slowly blended with red.
