It was early in the morning, and you hadn't even changed out of your nightgown yet when your mother called you from downstairs.

"(Y/N)!" Called your mother, "You have a letter!" You couldn't believe it. Letters directly addressed to you rarely ever came in, and when they did they were normally from your father. Letters from your father were rare, as he had a new family that he'd made since he left you and your mother.

"Coming, mother!" You called back as you slipped out of your nightgown and put on a clean, simple brown dress. You ran out of your bedroom and down the stairs. When you arrived downstairs, you were greeted by your mother, who wore a cheery grin.

"Here you go." She said, and she handed you the letter. You took it, and examined it. The envelope was a faded white color, with a red wax seal. You opened it carefully, and took out the paper inside. The paper read:

"Dearest (Y/N),

A week ago, we met under... Stressful circumstances. In order to apologize for that, I would be delighted if you would join me out today. I have many things to show you, all of which I'm sure you'll find fascinating. Please meet me outside, if you choose to accept my offer.

                                                                                                                                     Love, from Arno Victor Dorian"

After you finished reading, you gasped in surprise. Arno? You thought you'd never hear that name again. Last week, there was a bit of a fight in the street, and Arno was the one who saved you from it and defended you from the thugs. You owed him your life.

"Mother, I must go." You said, "I will be back soon." Your mother smiled.

"Be safe, (Y/N)." She said. You nodded in return, and walked out the door. Upon walking further down the street, you felt a light tap on your shoulder. You turned around, and there he was. Arno Victor Dorian, handsome face and all.

"Un plaisir de vous revoir, (Y/N)." He greeted you with a warm smile. You smiled back curtly.

"The pleasure is all mine, Monsieur Arno." You said. Arno then took your hand in his and kissed your knuckles, to which you giggled. The two of you began to walk.

It was a pleasant, beautiful day for a walk. The air was cool and crisp, but the sun was warm. Arno even managed to find a florist, from which he bought a small bouquet of red roses for you.

"Red roses." You said as you sniffed their fresh scent, "A declaration of love." This made Arno blush deeply.

"Is that what they mean?" He asked, clearly embarrassed, "I just thought that they looked nice. Not that... Erm... I don't love you, or I do, or anything." He rambled. You gave him a cute smile, and then grabbed his head gently, and gave him a peck on the cheek. His face was now redder than your roses.

"Well, I love you too, Arno." You said, and he smiled down at you warmly.

"Then I guess it would be unfair to not love you in return, (Y/N)." He said, and bent down to give you a kiss. Before his face could reach yours,  however, the two of you were interrupted.

"Hey, Assassin!" Yelled a dirty looking, greasy haired man, "Come on then, fight me!" The dirty man then pulled out a knife, and Arno pulled you behind his back.

"Go to safety, (Y/N)." He said, and he drew his sword. You ran to a safe distance, and watched Arno fight the man with skill. Arno bested the man, who laid on the ground, bloodied and defeated. Arno then walked back towards you, with a small smile.

"I think I should escort you home now, (Y/N)." He said. You only nodded, still stunned by his fighting skill.

It was a short walk home and the day was just as beautiful as when you started walking with him. You sighed deeply when you reached your doorstep, sad that it had to end.

"This was lovely, Arno. I wouldn't mind doing it again sometime... Maybe tomorrow evening?" You offered. He nodded in return.

"Of course. See you then, (Y/N)." He said, and turned on his heel, leaving you sighing on your doorstep. You entered your house, and you were stopped by your mother.

"So, (Y/N), what is your new boyfriend like?" She asked nosily, eyeing your roses.

"Mother!" You yelled as you laughed, and began to tell her all about the day you had. All about the roses, and the sword fight, and your amazing kiss.

From then on, Arno got you flowers often, and most of the time, they were dark, beautiful red roses.

My sixth one shot! I must say that I'm pretty proud of this one. I tried my hardest with the title (if you haven't noticed titles aren't really my thing) and I think it turned out pretty okay. I just had swim practice and I'm super tired, so sorry if you don't like it.  Maybe for my next one I'll do Ezio, or another Jacob? Maybe I'll hold off Jacob until the one after next. If you have requests, the comments are wide open, and my email is in the bioooo! Love you guys! ~❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Natasha
