"don't be nervous, You'll be fine." Kate told Glen as she steered her car through the gates at Kensington Palace. "You don't know that, William nearly ripped me a new one if you hadn't interfered." Glen told her in a nervous manner as she drove up to Nottingham Cottage where Harry and Meghan lived till apartment 1 was finished.
"I've warned Harry already and Arthur is there, he won't do anything." Kate reassured him, resting her hand on his thigh as he looked at her with a hint of fear and doubt in his eyes. It would be the first time that he met Harry this time, he'd survived William and Catherine so far, Catherine was just a goof ball in private. So far removed from what she was like in the public and in the position of Duchess. It allowed him to seperate the two better in his mind. William had grown to him a bit and he too was now able to relax and be a bit more loose around Glen.
Kate had asked him one thing though and in truth she hadn't even had to ask him. To not speak about anything that may happen within the Palace walls or any wall surrounding them. Kate held the respect cause she'd never rattled, never spoken. Hell they didn't even know she'd been as close to them until the page boys had been announced. Now that said something about them and how much she was respected because she never put a toe out of line by boosting about the fact that she was so close to them. She was a part of them in such a strange way and Glen didn't want to mess that up for her, so he'd already agreed. Anything that may happen with him present around the Royals, anything she told him, it wouldn't get out, not from him.
Her group of friends or the circle of trust as it was called was a close knit group, they were close around the Wales brothers and were one of the most loyal people he'd ever heard off. He had yet to meet any of them, him travelling so much hadn't enabled him to get to know any of her friends. He felt a bit bad about it, cause she had made the effort to come to Dublin and meet his family and such. He hoped that he could rectify that quickly and get to meet some of the people that had been her support for so long. The people she trusted a whole lot and had been there for her throughout it all.
But right now he was about to meet the other 'brother' so to speak and he felt a bit more wary about Harry than he liked to admit. He seemed like a fun going chap even in public, but he had a sneaking suspicion that when it came to the people he loved, he'd protect them to the ends of the earth. it was something he could only admire, but now right now when it was to be directed at him.
"Come on, before you decide to run for the hills." Kate told him in an amused tone as they got out of the car and towards the front door of Nottingham. "Hey Ginger." Kate greeted her brother in a teasing tone as she kissed his cheek, before moving past him. "Glen meet my brother Harry, Harry meet Glen." Kate said, moving her hand between the two of them, hoping things would run smoothly, the last thing she wanted was for Harry to be up in arms to defend her from what had happened in the past. She gave him a warning look and nodded his head at her in understanding. "It's nice to finally meet you." Harry noted, his hand extended towards Glen as Kate rolled her eyes. Well better have him use his diplomatic tone than something else.
"How has Arthur been?" Kate wondered as she followed Harry into the kitchen where Arthur was eating freshly made pancakes. "He's fine Kate, you really think I'm going to corrupt him?" Harry asked his sister teasingly as he nudged her side with his shoulder as Arthur leapt from his chair and into Glen's arms. "Daddy." he called out as Glen lifted him up as Arthur let out a giggle.
"You been good to uncle Harry?" Kate asked her son as she leant in to kiss his cheek, tapping his nose playfully. "Of course, he taught me how to play paper football." Arthur grinned, looking at Harry who gave his sister a grin as if to say what are you going to do about it. "And we watched Narnia again." Arthur grinned between his mum, dad and uncle as Kate let out a small chuckle as she kissed the side of her son's head.
"Why doesn't that surprise me?" she asked them with a smile between them. "Meghan not around?" Kate asked, looking around to see if she could catch a glimpse of her, she knew that Meghan had gone out the night before with a friend who'd come over from the states.
"No she sort of has a hangover." Harry admitted with a snicker as Kate rolled her eyes. "You aren't supposed to laugh about that." Kate told him with a chuckle as she thought of Meghan drunk, she remembered the last drunk evening she had gotten with Kate and Meghan, right before Kate had gotten pregnant. It had been quite a hilarious evening, Kate and Catherine drunk together were already a pair to be feared. "She told me to take care of Arthur that she could handle it." Harry told his sister with a reassuring tone as she gave him a nod of her head.
An hour later and Glen had felt a bit more relaxed of being around Harry as they left Nottingham Cottage for Kate's place. And like that his desire to have it just be them for a day came true, the Sunday was mostly spend with them watching movies together, all to Arthur's liking of course. Glen got reintroduced to Children's movies as the three of them cuddled up to each other, enjoying the quality time they had. They didn't have many moment like this, but it mattered to them when they finally were together and could have them.
