"Oh, well. Not exactly. Sometimes I enjoy watching our cook, Philip, put together dishes. I've always wanted to help but I was never allowed."

"Wow, you have a cook?" Lauren gave a simple nod. "That's fancy. Well, in the Cabello house, help is more than welcome. Come on over."

Lauren beamed happily and joined Sinu on the other side of the island. Under Sinu's instruction, Lauren quickly caught on and the two were soon a team in the kitchen.

As Lauren stirred the batter for the pancakes, a question came to mind. "Mrs Cabello? Is Camila usually restless sleeper?"

"Restless?"

"Yes, like does she often move around while sleeping? Kick or... use her hands?" Lauren averted her eyes during the last part of her question.

"Oh, never! When Cammy is out she's out. The girl sleeps like a rock. You don't ever want to see me when I have to wake her in the morning for school. Talk about a zombie," Sinu laughed.

Lauren chuckled as well but was confused. With that new information, Lauren now knew there was a good possibility Camila was awake while she was... The raven-haired girl felt her face grow hot with embarrassment. She suddenly felt uncomfortable feeling this way, especially in front of Camila's mother. As soon as she was done helping with breakfast, she planned to take leave from the Cabello home. She needed to regroup and put her head on straight. And not think about Camila touching her every time she looked at her.

After another twenty minutes, breakfast was done and Sinu made sure everyone in the house knew by declaring it loudly up the staircase. Within ten minutes, Hayley and Sofia burst into the kitchen. Lauren watched in surprise as the girls began to dig into their pancakes with fervour. Minutes later, Camila came into the kitchen. She was more awake but not by much.

"Morning, Cammy. Your nose is looking better. How does it feel?"

The brunette shrugged as she sat down. "A little tender, but I'll live."

Lauren watched from where she was standing by the kitchen counter as Camila cut into her pancake. She was still very suspicious of the brunette.

"Lauren, here's your plate," Sinu said, setting down the food in front of the seat beside Camila.

"Thank you, Mrs Cabello, but I really must go."

"What are you talking about? Come, eat."

"I'd like to, but I... I..." Lauren was a horrible liar. And before she could even attempt to say she had errands to run, Mrs Cabello didn't give her a chance.

"I won't have that, Lauren. Now, sit down and eat. I will not have a guest leave my house with an empty stomach."

Lauren was not sure whether to be relieved that Mrs Cabello prevented her from lying or upset that she had to accept defeat and reluctantly sit down next to Camila.

"Now, you all eat up. Lauren even helped prepare this meal, unlike all of you."

"Oh, come on, Mami," Camila complained. "It's too early to bust our balls."

"Camila, I don't like that mouth at the breakfast table. Now eat your food."

"Yeah, Cammy," Hayley chuckled. "You don't have balls anyway."

Sofia snickered.

"Shut up, Hayley," Camila growled.

"All of you shut up. This is no way to behave in front of a guest." With a shake of her head, Sinu turned with a frustrated sigh and began cleaning up the kitchen.
