Ch. 4 Remember

I had this ability to make myself impenetrable, yet when the time came to use it on others, I froze.

I couldn't even protect myself, let alone protect my whole family.

I approached the border of our neighborhood and pushed some branches aside. 

There it was. Still, as I left it last time, every living thing looking as if it belonged in a fantasy world; something that would make me forget my harsh one. Slowly, I lay down by the familiar oak tree, eyelids growing heavier and heavier every second.

I stirred, groaning under the bright sunlight that pierced through my eyelids. Steadily, I continued to lay there, eyes slowly traveling up towards the sky that was a mix of purple, pink, and a Bakugou.

WAIT.

A BAKUGOU?!?!?!?

A set of piercing red eyes stared back at mine, deep in thought as it stared down at me.

"A-A-AH!"

I leaped up from the base of the oak and held my hands in front of me.

"H-How did you find out this place? What is going on? Were you..."

I gulped as my whole body shook with fear. "Were you stalking me?"

Bakugou looked up at me with the same condescending smirk, showing one of his sharp canines. 

"Why couldn't I visit?" He replied, shrugging as if I was another vampire."

Once again, deja vu overcame me as he took a step forward.

Kirishima! I screamed desperately at myself in my head. You should use your quirk now! 

Dammit, why won't you move?!?

I gave a weak grin as I brought a trembling arm up towards eye level.

"W-What brings you here Bakugou...?"

I stammered, forming an escape plan in my mind and reminded myself that even this garden wasn't safe anymore.

In one quick motion, I hardened my skin and dashed forward, my fist heading towards the abdomen. 

CRACK

My fist made contact with nothing but the tree. My back straightened up as I felt a familiar presence behind me. A cold breath tingled the back of my neck. Goosebumps started forming.

" Oh Kirishima, I was beginning to think you couldn't even fight back. Let's see how good you are, Mr. second place."

Dread overcame me as I turned around.
