It was Ino’s birthday and you were invited. You really haven’t even talked to each other but you guess she just invited you so that many people will come to her party. In fact, you really don’t talk much to anyone! You sat on the carpet next to Hinata who’s expecting you to sit by her side.

To you, Hinata was your only friend. She was the only one who understands you. You were too scared of being rejected by anybody, even if it just means saying hello. Soon, other people came to sit on the carpet, for the couch was occupied by one sleeping on it. He was a boy with a ponytail snoring softly on the couch.

His expression made you smile for he doesn’t care about other people who want to sit on the couch.

“OK!! Hm… hmm…. Who will be my first victim?.... AHA! YOU!” You heard Ino shout in front of the carpet.

You turned your head to her, immediately noticing her index finger pointing at you and a tray of papers on her other hand.

“B-But…. I never wanted to join…” You said silently, waving your hands apologetically.

“Well, then I order you to join! My party, my rules, umm…. What was your name again?” She said as she pushesthe tray of papers to you closer.

“_-_________....” You said shyly and hesitantly picked the paper.

People were carefully looking at who you got for you and Hinata are sitting in the middle of the crowd and Ino just squeezed herself into the bunch of people. She thought she could give everyone the element of surprise and not going by the rule ‘Being seated in front doesn’t mean you get to play first.’

You cautiously picked the paper on the far left side of the tray and Ino stood you up to your feet. You looked down at the ground, hoping the people won’t look at you for you are the only one who’s standing up in the room. You walked into the closet silently, trying your best to avoid stepping on people’s hands as you made your way.

You closed the door and leaned on the nearest wall you could find. You didn’t bother finding the light. All you care about is who is your partner. You hyperventilate as you thought about it. Your heart beat fast and you began to sweat madly. You felt like you were about to lit up the room without you even knowing it. Is it going to be Naruto? I hope Hinata won’t be mad at me…. Is it going to be Sasuke? Then Sakura and Ino will kill me for sure!....

You heard someone moaning in annoyance outside. Then footsteps. You closed your eyes as the footsteps got closer. Sure, it was a silly thing to do when you’re already surrounded by darkness but you couldn’t help it. This was one of those times where you wish you could just disappear.

The door opened and closed quickly, making you jump. You didn’t catch a glimpse of your partner but at least you could tell he’s in the room.

“Hey….” He started. That hoarse voice sounded familiar. A voice you heard on the streets. The fields. As you pondered about who that voice was, he repeated his greeting again, making you stutter.

“Oh, uh, h-hello…”

Then light filled the room. Your partner was the one sleeping on the couch earlier. OK, this was purely coincidental….. Nothing more….

“OK, now that I know where you are, sit down…” He said rather angrily.

You immediately did what he said and sat down on your place. He walks over to you and sits beside you.

“Now don’t move or else….” He added which made you as stiff as a board.

He leaned over to you and placed his head on your lap, making you blush uncontrollably. Whatever you do, ______, don’t….. move….., you thought as you tried your best to control your breathing but the color of your face was never the same again.
