(Sup my dudes! Another FF... Well, this should be fun! Just a quick word. There are some sensitive themes in this book so if you aren't into dramatic stuff then I apologize xD Style change is to be expected as I'm looking to perfect my writing and stuff but I doubt anything will be overly intense as it already takes me long enough to write these and I'd rather not lengthen it much more :P As usual, I will not edit until I finish the book unless I feel like editing a chapter one day... Then I will xD Hope you enjoy xx :3)
"Surely, it could not just be me who saw these sights."

I tapped my finger against the hard, cold wood of the desk. I glanced down at my two hands that rested impatiently on the desk's surface. Petite, was the word that first popped up into my head. There was one especially notable thing about the left hand. A red string was tied around the little finger. It had always been there. I can not even remember if there was a time when it wasn't there. The rest of the red string was long, so long that I had never seen it's end. It trailed off the edge of my desk and I could see it run a difficult path through the legs of chairs and tables and then disappeared underneath the slide door. You may ask why I never bothered to follow it, the answer to that is very simple. If something in your life has always been there, would you actually consider it abnormal? It was only recently that I had discovered that other people couldn't see what I could. I looked up and took in the many faces that surrounded me. Several people wore masks that covered their entire face.
'Who are we today?' I thought to myself. Hitomi Kido's mask was especially bright today, with a big smile painted on to the front of it. 'She's depressed.' I remembered. She's been wearing that mask a lot recently. I glanced over to a large group of people around one girl. I sniffed with annoyance. Ran, the girl's name, had also been wearing the same mask a lot more often. It was a light blue one with a tear drop painted on underneath the spot where one of her eyes should be. Ran was receiving all the attention that Hitomi deserved. I gave Hitomi a sympathetic glance, she shot a questioning one back. I just shook my head and continued to stare forward at the blank white board, hoping that the teacher would come and the class would start.
(This '~' means a timeskip, I'm too lazy to write timeskip every time and I also want this book to look a bit more professional in comparison to my other fanfics so yeah xD)

I rested on a wooden bench in the school courtyard, staring down at the blood red string attached to my little finger.
'Why are you here?' I thought silently, frowning at my hands a little. I couldn't feel the string on my finger at all. You'd think having an especially long string tied around one of your fingers would be a great bother, especially if it got caught on something farther down the line but I suppose it was like the masks I saw the other students wearing, it was one of those things that were there but not really. 'Are you perhaps... The red string of fate?' I outwardly snorted at that. 'Not likely, I hope you will reveal your purpose soon.' Yes it didn't annoy me because I couldn't feel it but that was not always the case, it tugged sometimes. The little red string that I could never usually feel, every so often, would give a great tug on my finger. The first time this happened was when I was walking by a large school and it tugged so hard that it basically diverted me from my path. My friends gave me such a weird look. There have been times where I have been compelled to follow the urges of the string to whatever lay at it's other end but follow a mysterious object through a large city isn't the smartest thing I've ever though of, so I've denied myself the pleasure on multiple occasions.
"You zoning out again, y/n?" Nao asked, plopping down into the seat next to mine.
"Ahh, I was wondering when you'd come and interrupt my peaceful thoughts." I said but gave her a bright and welcoming smile.
"You love it really." She replied returning the grin. "Are you going to eat that?" She asked, pointing a finger to the lunch box full of food that rested on my other side.
"Yes. What? Do you want some?" I asked.
"Maybe." She said evasively, her eyes shining.
"If you're good, you can have a bit." I laughed. Nao was one of those people who actually stuck around even though I was ranting. She constantly told me I needed to become a psychologist. I never told her that I could see things but I often talked about them in a knowing fashion as though I was just simply smart, she was always so impressed that I knew so much about people. Nao was easily my best friend.

"Please visit Mikazuki High with me." Nao whined as we exited the school through the grand front gates.
"No way am I going to visit that giant school just so you can talk to those new good looking boys." I laughed, shaking my head. A chilling breeze was creeping in from the south letting us know that it was going to be very cold in a short period of time.
"Well only a couple years ago you seemed very keen to go there." She said, emphasizing 'very'. I could hardly believe she remembered me stumbling in the direction of the school after that huge tug given from the red string.
"I can't believe you remember that." I sniffed. "You're not a normal human being. Besides, I've told you, I simply tripped."
"You trip weird." She retorted quietly receiving a chuckle from me.
"Come on, I know you want to go secretly." She urged. A painful pull on my left little finger suddenly tripped me in the direction Nao was gesturing me to go.
"Yeah!" she called triumphantly. "That's the way... Wait, did you just trip again?" Her words ended in a giggle.
"Shut up." I whined and rubbed my forehead tiredly.
"Not until you accompany me to that place of destiny." She continued to giggle and lunged forward, grabbing my wrists and swinging them around.
"Fine." I said.
