Just an Old Clock (ALCRUX)

Just an Old clock

And you were there standing in the dark again

Blocking my path again

Leaning on the only pole with lamp on

Filling my street with the shadow's groan.

Why do you taunt me every night

Just state your hunger out right

Punched you yesterday,

dodged you before

Yet you stand here today

To silence my Quill's roar.

An idiot immortal you are

Blocking my portal to the far.

And then it clicks

You just employ old tricks

Darkness isn't my enemy

But a friend

Because night is the time

Of all dreamer's land.

And then a sudden realisation

You aren't the projection

Of my fear of rejection

You are not the infamous writers block

You are an old clock!

Stopped and stopping

in an old place, in the past hour.

Just needed new batteries, ideas, perspective

Needed a few words to be self reflective.
