The invitations were all printed neatly on the edge of the small terra-cotta reddish-brown desk in one corner. They took them, stuffed them inside their black-grey windbreaker. The world outside was bitter and crisp, swirling with leaves. Everything was a too-bright reddish-brown, with umbers creating a fog in the forest.
Thorns tugged and snagged at pieces of clothing, and somewhere, wind-chimes made melodic sounds.
They placed the invites around their targets.
They got to the mansion.
It was large, towering over everything in its path. Large overhead lamps gave the entire place a yellow-orange glow to it. They entered. The place was nice. The main hall was the same colour as their desk, though now a large red carpet was splayed across. The smell of their pumpkin pie wafted through the air, as well as the muffins and other foods, almost ready.
They turned to corner. More lights and music playing from a jukebox was the main theme. There was a small living room with couches around a cozy fire-place, and to the right was the kitchen and dining room.
It seemed...nice. But there were quite a few renovations that would need to be made. They took out their supplies. Most of the traps had already been planted throughout the homey mansion, but there were tweaks that had to be made to make it perfect.
It was almost half an hour later when they were finished, when the layout was just to their liking and traps lay everywhere, in all the right places. No one could manipulate the trap systems that wouldn't then alert them, and there was never one trap without a back-up.
This is to go home, they told themselves. It's not like you really have another choice.
They were currently pacing in the dining room, filled with the cyan-turquoise carpets and the roaring fire. The night sky finally changed from the reddish-brown to a much darker violet-blue. The music from nowhere had stopped.
"Hello? Anyone in here?" Came an unsure and awkward voice. They stood. "Hello?" They responded, ducking their head into the main hall.
There stood a tall girl with freckles dotting her face. Bright cardinal red hair covered her head and shoulders, and large almost comical glasses sat on her nose. A small calico cat was nestled in the crook of her arm.
"Oh - hey! Do you know when the party starts?" She asked, her eyes scanning around the mansion in awe of the decor. They shook their head. "I just got here."
"Ah, well - I'm Cassie! Hah, Cassie Rose. It's nice to meet you!" She stuck out her hand, and awkward yet genuine smile on her face. They shook. "Nice to meet you too." Cassie stopped slightly as both their hands dropped.
"Aren't you, ah, gonna tell me your name?"
Have to think of something quick. She can know my name, but if she knows I was the first one here...
"I kinda want to wait until everyone's here - then I don't have to introduce myself a thousand times, hah."
"Ohh, that makes sense." The girl set down her calico. It stretched indignantly and began to lick down its fur. They're glad she dosen't seem in the least bit suspicious. They decide to push their luck.
"Hey - have you heard of the enchanting flint and steel? I think that's why we're all here."
Cassie sits down, stroking the small calico. "How so?"
"I've studied them quite a lot - it's a small piece of flint and steel, but it's enchanted. There's only a handful in the world, and they're extremely hard to get or retrieve. Merchants and adventurers spend their whole lives trying to attain it to sell for money, some just want it.
But it can do so much more than just give someone more money - they can grant the power to travel different dimensions."
They sit back in their chair. The look on the redhead's face is absolutely priceless.
"Whoa - that's incredible! I've researched that there are other dimensions before, but a way to get there? That's amazing! Wow..." She paused. "And that's why you think we're here?" They nodded.
"Hmm...maybe, that would be really interesting...anyways, I was just looking around and I saw all these pumpkins around! But they were white - it's really freaky. This place gives me the creeps! I can't wait until the others get here."
Me neither.
The killer smiled.

Hi hello it's Dawson! I got this idea for this one - shot kinda weird story idea maybe like today lol, but I love episode 6, and it's probably my fave episode!
Plus, YouTubers! More variety on this new account! Yay! Anyways, next chapter, the killer is not who you think it is, and is instead a cheerful brit with bubble-gum coral hair...
Also, I mainly want to work on this project by myself, but I'd also love if any of you (the admins) wanted to help with writing, or any of you readers to help with ideas! ^^
