None of them could say they weren't impressed. This had to be one of the smartest women they knew and met. At the age of just not 30, she was going to be the director of one of the biggest and well-known museums in the world.
"What do the fossils belong to?" Glen's grandmother asked her as she turned to her. "both departments, it's a rather complicated thing. It'll be easier when I get to oversee everything." she explained with a small chuckle. It was a very thin line between both departments, now she wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
"Mummy always lets me in the lab. I get to see everything first." Arthur noted with a big grin as he looked up from his colouring book with dinosaurs and such. "Are they big?" Aileen, his newfound grandmother asked him as Arthur nodded his head with a big grin. "some are like the T-Rex and Dippy but there are smaller ones as well as the tiny raptors." Arthur told them with a proud tone that he knew all of it and he turned to his mum who kissed his head. "Mummy and Aunty Kate always tell us stories when we go around the museum," he added with a big grin on his face.
"What's your favourite? Gary asked him with a small smile. if his new grandson loved dinosaurs, he was going to make sure he knew about them so he could talk about them with him.
"The strange ones," he told them with a giggle as Kate shook her head. "I don't know all their names, but I know what they look like." he grinned as Kate gave him a small smile, running her hand through his hair. "But Spinosaurus is pretty cool." he grinned as Kate couldn't help but chuckle. "At least it's not T-rex," Kate noted as Arthur giggled beside her, she didn't really know the fascination about T-rex. Maybe she didn't find it as the impressive cause of what she knew about it.
"And planteater." Arthur paused, his head tilted to the side in a similar manner as to when Kate thought about something. "the stegosaurus." He grinned up at his mum, proud for saying the name and knowing it. She gave him a small nod to say that he had it right.
"And the one with the horns?" he asked her as Kate looked down at him. "The Carnotaurus," she told him with a small smile as he grinned up at her.
"We even went to Africa last year to see the dinosaurs in the ground." He told all of them in an excited manner as he got up to crawl in his mum's arms.
"How was that?" Glen asked them, he was seeing a whole new side to them, even after hours of spending time with them. He knew his son was bright, but he'd been naming dinosaurs left and right. Sliding up a chair, he wrapped his arm around Kate's shoulders.
"Pretty amazing, we went to South Argentina after that. I had to and oversee some digs. He loved it, they had given him his own set of equipment to dig things up. He was overjoyed when he freed a piece of bone on both sites." Kate told them, her arms around her son, her chin resting on the top of his head.
"And this summer?" he asked her, hoping they wouldn't be gone for too long and too many times. He didn't want them to be away, just when he was going to be home after half a year of travelling. "Australia, India, and Alaska," she told him as he nodded his head in surprise, trailing his fingers up and down her arm. "Dinosaurs?" Mark wondered from his place at the table.
"Not all of them." she started with a smile. "It's a few dig sites I send my team to and I always make sure to check in on them. I don't want them to feel that I just send them to the corner of the world and don't care about them," she explained as all of them around couldn't help but think it was a nice thing of her to do. not many bosses would fly around the world to just check in with the people that worked for them.
"Australia is about fossils which are around 400 million years old. India is about dinosaurs and Alaska is about fossils from the ice age. They discovered a Sabertooth and mammoths." she explained as Arthur snuggled in her chest.
