(Princess Sequel) Chapter 2

Start from the beginning

(Wow, that's cheap...)

Regina: "I think it's 1 culs for 5 apples."

Wilfred: "1 culs? Isn't that about what it costs for a hamburger or a can of juice?"

Wilfred: "5 apples, for that price..."

He furrowed his brows.

Wilfred: "Can one live on a price like that?"

Regina: "Mm..."

Regina: "Maybe the ones here are just ones they couldn't offload on stores?"

Wilfred: "What do you mean?"

Regina: "I'm not that up on the details, but..."

Regina: "I'm pretty sure stores won't buy ones that have a bad color or shape."

Wilfred: "I follow you."

Regina: "But I don't think they taste any different."

Regina: "So they sell those here. It's cheap to sell in an empty stall..."

His eyes lit up at my words.

Wilfred: "An empty stall. How are they supposed to sell them with no one here?"

I pointed to the box placed nearby.

Regina: "I think you're supposed to put the money in here."

Regina: "Then you take what you paid for."

Prince Wilfred got an expression of disbelief.

Wilfred: "What would happen if someone of poor morals came by?"

Regina: "Well... I guess they could take what they wanted..."

Wilfred: "Wouldn't it also endanger the money in the box?"

He asked me in a serious tone and I gave a helpless shrug.

Regina: "It would, but... I doubt there's anyone like that around here."

Wilfred: "You doubt it?"

Regina: "Yeah. The only ones that come by here are locals that lives in the area."

Regina: "So I figure they use the honor system."

Wilfred: "The honor system..."

He fell silent and I let out a soft sigh.

(I guess for someone of the royal family...)

(It could be pretty hard to believe.)

(And I never even knew such places existed in our own kingdom...)

Regina: "Anyway... we should start getting breakfast ready."

Regina: "Could you put 1 culs in here."

I urged him with a smile and he hesitantly dropped the money into the box. Just as we finished picking out our apples and started back.

???: "It's you two..."

We came across the middle-aged man from the other day.

(Ah...)

Older Man: "What are you doing here?"

His eyes were widen. He must have recognized us.

(Oh what should I do...?)

I glanced at Prince WIlfred and I saw him, was bow his head with a serious expression.
