"Ya Humaira wake up, Abba is calling you"
shouted my ten years old brother Sudais
"Am coming give me a second"
i said getting off my bed, he left the room after making sure am awake, I ran to the bathroom to wash my face.
I quickly put on my abaya(gown) and gele (veil) so that I won't keep Abba waiting,
"salaam alaikum"(peace be upon you ) I said waiting at the door for permission.
"Wa'alaikum salam"(peace be upon you too) come in and sit dear" Abba said
I walk into the living room feeling nervous, did I commit Any crime? That the question I kept asking my self.
My parent and both my brother Salim and Sudais were all seated in the living room,
This most be serious, we hardly have this type of gathering, don't get me wrong we do eat and some times watch film together, the last time Abba called us like this was two years ago when he to travel to makkah, but I don't know why he sent for me today.
Abba clear his throat bringing me back to reality, "assalamu alaikum"he said
"Wa'alaikum salaam " we all answer
"I call you all here today to discuss something very important, starting from Monday I will be resigning from my position"he said looking at our faces before he continue
"Salim you will be the new CEO"
he said looking at ya Salim, who was just looking at Abba as if he was speaking French "I know it will be a little difficult at first, but you have some experience, being the sales manager and besides that Ahmad my assistant will help you"Abba said.
I was so happy for my brother, after all he is the eldest son he should be expecting the position sooner or later.
"thanks dad I will I will make you proud inshaallah"ya Salim said smiling,
"congratulation brother or I wait until Monday after your coronation" I said, he smile "thanks little sis but don't you think is a little bit early to congratulate me? " we all laugh before dad spoke
"And You Humaira, dad said looking at me with all seriousness "I have something important to tell you, but before then you need to answer my question sincerely okay ? " dad said
There was silence in the room, just like the silence before the storm.
I felt my heart beating faster, i don't know why but I kinda felt it was a bad news for me, but I was still hoping it wasn't going to be that bad.
