Mom

dear mom, why the tears?

there's no reason for your fears

water drops rolling down your cheeks

while nothing's changed

your eyes tired and red

making us feel estranged

dear daughter, why the ignorance?

there's quite the difference

pain has caused me to crumble

has made me this broken person

it was hurt that made me stumble

and I know this can only worsen

dear mom, don't say this

it will be over in a bliss

the pain will not last

sadness will go over

soon it'll be just a memory

and you can start all over

dear daughter, open your eyes

don't believe your own lies

living on won't make it better

ignoring won't bring her back

this is a new phase in our life

and it will be coloured black
