Warnings? Jealous Etee
x
You and Ethan had been dating for 2 years. You guys stuck together through all of the long days and short nights. The love you to give each other is so huge almost no one would be able to understand it. You and Ethan could barely understand it.

Lately, Ethan’s been spending less time with you and more on his tv. Ever since Fortnite came out, he’s been obsessed with it. Yeah, at first it seemed to be no big deal. He still set out times to hang out with you and times to play video games. But it’s been getting worse. It used to be 80 percent you, 20 percent Fortnite. But it’s switched - It’s 80 percent Fortnite, 20 percent you.

They’ve taken over his life in a way that even you couldn’t understand. He was so interested in getting wins rather than spending time with you, the girl he said was the most important thing to him. The girl he said he would drop anything for, he left in the dust. For a stupid video game.

“Hey Ethan, wanna go and ge-” “Hang on, let me finish this round.”

He finished the round alright. He finished 4 other rounds, in fact. You decided to just go out with Grayson, leaving Ethan home alone for a few hours. You needed to pick up a few things for an event you had to go to for school. Usually you would have gotten Ethan’s opinion on the clothes you would be wearing to things like this, but with his newly found obsession, it’s kind of hard.

Grayson’s sense of style was different from Ethan’s. So you expected a different response to certain things you tried on.

You tried on a silky red dress as well as a laced blue one. They were completely different in style but both complimented your body in such a good way. You liked them both, as did Grayson, so you decided to just buy the both of them. They weren’t too expensive so you were perfectly fine with spending a little extra cash.

You wanted to show Ethan the dresses as soon as you got home. You expected him to be done playing Fortnite, so it would give you the perfect chance to show off the way you looked.

He always loved seeing you all dressed up, especially for something like this. Finishing high school and going to these events was something very important to you and he loved seeing the way your face lights up when you talk about it.

“Ethan! Do you wanna see the dresses I got?” Your eyes lit up when you mentioned the dresses. You loved showing him your new outfits, the ways he complimented you and made sure you knew you were the only girl in the world truly meant a lot to you.

“When did you get these dresses?” Ethan asks, confused. He must’ve never noticed you and Grayson left earlier.

“I went out with Grayson a few hours ago, you were busy playing your game and I really needed to get the dress.” You explain, pulling out the blue dress and slipping it on as you explain. “Zip me?”

Ethan zipped you and spun you around to face him.

“Oh.” Is all he said

“Is everything alright?” You ask, a sense of worry showing in your eyes.

“Everythings fine. You look gorgeous baby.” Ethan says, kissing you and unzipping you so you can show him the second dress.

You slipped it on and Ethan had zipped it. He spun you around once again while looking you up and down.

“Do you like it?” You ask, pulling at the hem of the dress.

“Of course I like it. You look like a goddess.” Ethan says, patting down the sides and pulling you in for a kiss.

“Thank you E.” You say as your forehead is leaning against his.

You took the red dress off and threw on one of Ethans tshirts that had been lying around. You had no need to put on anything special because you weren’t going to be going out for the rest of the day.

You walked downstairs to see Grayson playing fortnite.

“Really? You too?” You ask, grabbing a bag of chips out of the cupboard and taking a seat next to him on the couch.

“Yeah. Cmon, you gotta admit, its a fun game.” Grayson says, continuing to play the so called “#1 game on the market.”

“I wouldn’t know, I’ve never played.” You say, popping another dorito into your mouth.

“What do you mean, ‘you’ve never played’?” Grayson says, repeating your words and putting them in air quotes. He was in shock that you’ve never played. He immediately handed you the controlle- no, forced the controller into your hands.

“I mean I never saw the big craze of it. Theres nothing special about it.” You say, not knowing what to do with the controller.

Grayson told you to just play and he’d explain and help you on the way. The game seemingly got more fun, and easy, as time went on.

“See. It’s fun!” Grayson says, taking the controller back from you after you finish.

“What are you guys doing?” Ethan says, leaning against the brown recliner that was seated next to the couch.

He seemed cheerful, much more than he had earlier. It was good to see him happy like this.

“Grayson was trying to show me how fun this game is. I can see why you’re so obsessed now.” You say, laughing a bit and looking back down at the tv.

“Oh, okay.” Ethan says, his voice getting quieter as he finishes his quick sentence.

He walks away and upstairs to his room, getting a little gloomy as he does so.

“Is everything okay with him?” Grayson asks, lifting the headset off of his ear for a minute.

“I’m not sure, he did this earlier. Im gonna go check on him.” You say, getting up and walking up to your shared bedroom.

“Hey E.” You say, sitting next to him and rubbing his shoulder. He was lying down and underneath the blanket, fully submerged.

“Hey.” He replies, sticking his head out just a bit from the comforter.

“Are you alright?” You ask, looking at him with full sincerity.

“Yeah.” His short answers weren’t working on you. You knew something was wrong, you just wanted to see if he was going to admit it.

It hurt you to see him like this, especially knowing that it could be your fault. You never want to make him feel like this and not knowing how to fix it scared you.

“Eth, you and I both know something is wrong. Can you please tell me?” You ask, the worry in your eyes growing.

“You’re always doing everything with Grayson now,” Ethan says, sitting up and looking down at your lap. “Am I not good enough?”

Those words coming out of his mouth hurt you. It hurt you to hear that he’d been thinking these things. You never intended to hurt him and you were determined to make it better. You’d be damned if you left him like this.

“Oh E. Of course you’re good enough. I guess with you playing Fortnite all the time I thought it’d be fine if I just hung out with Gray for a bit. But I promise you you won’t be replaced. I love you E.” You say, pulling him in for a kiss and smiling against his lips.

“I love you too, y/n. And I promise fortnite won’t replace you. But like Grayson showed you, the game is addicting.” He says, removing himself from you and smiling.

“Damn right,” you say, giggling and tossing one of the controllers to him. “Wanna play?”
