Chapter 1-The Academy of Hope and Despair

     I wake up to the warm feel of sun rays on my face. I open my eyes, sit up in my bed and stretch. When I finally get up to my feet, the smell of pancakes and fruit wafts through my room.

     "Ahh... that smells so good!" I think as I head down the stairs to the kitchen.  When I get down I see my mother setting the table and my three year old sister in a high chair munching happily on grapes.

     My mom spots me as I reach the bottom of the stairs.

     "Good morning (Y/N)! Have a seat breakfast is almost ready!" She hums as she dances around the kitchen with a smile on her face.

     I take a seat at our small dining table with a suspicious look in my face.

     My mother places a plate of pancakes in front of me and sits down across from me with her own plate of food.

     "What's the occasion?" I ask with a confused look on my face.

     "Well," my mother begins, "You just got accepted into Hope's Peak Academy!" She exclaims.

     "Oh that's cool..." I respond stuffing a fork full of pancakes into my mouth. Then suddenly the realization hits me,"WAIT WHAT?!"

     My mother hands me a envelope with a red stamp on the front.  I open it swiftly and begin to read the letter inside.

Miss (Y/N) (L/N),
     It is my greatest honour to inform you that as of this year you are invited to attend Hope's Peak Academy as a student with the title of 'Ultimate Lucky Student'.  Your scholarship has been paid for as well as everything you need for the year. Dorm assignments and class schedules are enclosed in this envelope.  We hope to see you soon as the newest student in our academy.

     "No way!" I squealed, "I got accepted!" I danced around the room and my little sister clapped and laughed.

     "The school year starts in a month and since we don't have enough money for school supplies the headmaster provided us with everything you need!" She smiled and handed me a black and white paper bag. "This is your uniform! Try it on!"

     I ran upstairs and put the new uniform on.  It fit perfectly! I still can't believe I got accepted! This school year is going to be so awesome!

     My mother dropped me off in front of the academy gates and I waved goodbye to her and my little sister who was crying in the back seat.

     "Whaaaaa! (Y/N) don't leave!" She cried.

     "I'll visit as soon as I can I promise!" I gave my sister a final hug and headed towards the gate to start my new life.

     I got the the gate and there was a small microphone and camera in front of me. "Must be security." I thought.

     Suddenly I felt sick and fell to my knees. I vaguely remember being shoved into a vehicle and passing out.

I was not prepared for what would happen next

     I wake up dazed and open my eyes.  Much to my confusion the space is enclosed and pitch black. The only source of light is three slots in front of my eyes.
