Chapter 2-New Faces

     "Well That was extreme..." Rantaro says with a puzzled expression. I'd have to agree with him.  Everyone in the gym headed their separate ways so Rantaro and I decided to do the same.

     "We'll meet up later, after we meet everyone else okay?" He asks me.

     "Okay." I respond, "Just don't take too long!" He smiles and walks off.  Suddenly I'm alone.

     "Umm, Hey again... (y/n) was it?" Kaede and Shuichi walk up to me and I try my best to be polite. First name basis already? I guess I don't mind that much. Even after this girl surprised me with her first comment.

     "Hi Akamatsu," I start, "Yeah, you got it. My name is (Y/N) (L/N). I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student!" Kaede is awed by my talent; Shuichi, not so much.

     "Is luck even a talent?" He asks, no rude tone intended.

     Kaede gently elbows him, "It's a talent if she has it! Geez, you need to be nicer Shuichi..." Kaede makes a pouty face at him.

     "Ah! Sorry!" He says to me.

     "No harm done!" I say with a smile. "In fact you aren't completely wrong about the luck thing. I actually applied to the General Studies course but was selected by random draw."  Kaede smiles at me but then a second later she is reminded of something.

     "Oh yeah! I never told you my talent!" Kaede clasped her hands together and happily re-introduced herself,"I'm Kaede Akamatsu The Ultimate Pianist!" She then nudges Shuichi who looks extremely timid. That poor guy...

     "Ah! I'm Shuichi Saihara," He states, "They call me the Ultimate Detective but..." he stops talking suddenly.

     "But what?" I ask in anticipation. Me waved his hand dismissively and looks away.

     "I hope we can be friends even after we graduate and leave the academy (Y/N)! You seem very sweet!" Kaede gives me her signature smile.

     "Yeah, that would be cool." I say, "You too Saihara!" Saihara looks at me with surprise and then gives me a short bit visible nod.

TWO FRIENDSHIP FRAGMENTS AQUIRED

       I make my way out of the gym and down yet another plant infested hallway. I keep walking through the hall until I walk around a corner to see a tuft of green hair I know all too well.

"Rantaro?" I ask. The green haired boy turns around and gives me a smile.

"Hey, (y/n), any luck meeting other students?" He askes me.

"Not really, I've met Akamatsu and Saihara but that's about it." I say slightly distracted by Rantaro's bright beautiful green eyes. Why am I staring at his eyes? I literally just met the guy!

"Uh, (y/n)?" He waves a hand in front of my face, "Earth to (y/n)!"

"Huh? What?" I snap out of my daze and I immediately continue to mentally scold myself.

"Anyway, haha... this conversation is getting awkward very quick." I say embarrassed, "Have you met anyone yet Rantaro?" I try to change the subject.
