She smiled as Mark greeted his wife with a kiss and smile, before greeting his children. "Hey Mark." she greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for arranging this," Kate added as Mark waved it off.
"don't worry about it," he assured her as he kissed Arthur's cheek in her arms before ruffling his hair. "Hey, little man." Mark grinned at him as he picked up his smallest girl.
The love he had for his family was clear to see to everyone. His three children hung around him, all wanting to cuddle or be picked up. his wife looked at him like there was no other man around. She felt as if she was intruding on their moment as she followed after them.
"Oh, a little warning, his family is here as well. They called after you call me if they could come and see the concert again." He told her over his shoulder as he gave her a reassuring smile as she undid the belt of her coat as it swung around her legs.
"It'll be fine," he reassured her, giving her arm a small squeeze. She wasn't so sure of that at all though. "Thanks," she whispered with a deep sigh as Arthur's head rested on her shoulders. Through the years she'd become a professional of walking in high heels and carrying her son. thankfully he wasn't too heavy just yet.
He walked through a door which said: "Restaurant. "Is daddy in there?" Arthur asked her as she waited just around the corner. What would his family do? She'd basically kept Arthur from them for five years. She was dressed for work and they would get the wrong impression all the way. All in all, she wasn't ready to meet his family yet. But there was anything that she could do about it now. Kate would kick her back to Dublin if she were to return to London right now.
Taking a deep breath she rounded the corner and entered a room filled with noise and people.
She noticed Mark sitting at the end of the table ahead of her where Glen was sat a few seats down from him. She immediately noticed his dad opposite of him. The similarities were uncanny, much like Arthur and Glen's were. She noticed Mark pointing in her direction to Glen as his head whipped around. A grin immediately grew on his face as he got up and walked towards them.
"You're here." He grinned at them as he leant in to peck her lips, before taking their son as he held his arms out to him. Kate rolling her shoulder a little now that she had handed her son off to his dad.
"How did you get here?" He wondered, resting his hand on his son's back. "On a plane daddy." Arthur chuckled with an obvious tone. "Of course." Glen grinned at him, kissing his cheek.
"The electricity fell out at his school. I finished the meeting I was in and got here on the first plane. I called Mark on the way if he'd be able to sneak me and surprise you." she explained as her hand rested on their son's back as well, giving a small smile at Mark as she mentioned him.
"You happy we surprised you, daddy?" Arthur asked Glen with a big grin on his face. "Of course I am." Glen immediately said, hugging him against his chest and kissing the side of his head.
"What happened at school?" he asked Arthur. "George and me we were painting and then all the lights went out," Arthur told his father in a comic manner as Kate rolled her eyes. her son was spending way to much time with Harry.
"Why don't you tell him what you did after that?" Kate told her son with a hint of amusement and good-humoured shake of her head. "We couldn't see where we were painting, so we painted the wall as well," Arthur said in a proud tone as Glen chuckled, before ruffling his hair and kissing the side of his head.
"Funnily enough the wall was on the other side of the table," Kate added as Glen laughed softly. "You little monkey." Glen grinned, tickling his son's side who's infectious laughter filled the room. "that's George. George is mummy's little monkey." Arthur claimed through fits of laughter.
"Both of you are," Kate noted with a chuckle as she leant in to kiss his head. Everyone around the room knew which George it was. Her life wasn't as secret or under the radar anymore as she'd once had. Ever since the announcement and the nice source they had still to figure out, the entire world knew how close she was to the Royals. Especially to the two big brothers she never had. That she was an adviser and the little sister Harry and Will had never had.
It wasn't hard to deduce that the George they were talking about was actually the future king of England.
Whilst they had their small family moment, none of them had noticed people sneaking up behind Glen. That was till someone cleared their throat behind him and said: "Glen."
