It has been almost two years since my girlfriend Alexis and I have been together but nobody knows about it and we would like to keep it that way because the way that people at our school are and telling our parents isn't an option at the moment.
I walk behind her at her locker.
"We still on for tonight?" I whisper.
"Last time I checked, yeah."
"Okay good...right after soccer?"
"That's what I told you over the phone, is it not?"
"It is sorry I have to go, I'm running late."
"Okay, I'll see you next period."
"Yeah."
"I love you." She whispered so nobody heard her.
"I love you too." I whisper back. I walk off to chemistry, my favorite class.
You could say I'm a little nerdy but, Alexis finds it attractive. My best friend Cassie walks over to me.
"Hey, you want to hang out later when you are done with soccer practice?" Not even she knew about it and I tell her everything, but I respect Alexis and she asked me not to tell anyone so, I won't until she's ready for people to start knowing.
"I can't, I'm sorry I have plans."
"Oh with who?"
"McKenzie..." McKenzie's my little sister, I hate having to lie to Cassie but it's for the best because this can't get out right now.
"Oh, okay..."
"I'm sorry, how about tomorrow?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Okay." We go sit in our seats. Chem went by really slow, I just wanted to see Alexis even though I wanted to also be in chemistry, I couldn't sit next to Cassie right now because I had just lied to her and I've never done that. Finally, the bell rings for us to go off to our next period. I quickly pack up my stuff and walk to Algebra 2. Alexis was already in her seat, I sit in my seat next to her.
"Hey."
"Hi." she sounded annoyed.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, it doesn't matter."
"Something and it does matter."
"Just leave it please."
"Okay." I didn't want to piss her off even more than she already was so, I just kept my mouth shut the rest of the period. I was really looking forward to seeing her but something happened last period that pissed her off so I couldn't even talk to her or write her the cute little notes I normally do on the side of her notes. I look over at her. I try and write a little note on the side of her paper, but she pushes my hand away.
"Okay, Alexis enough tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing just didn't do very well on my Spanish test and my mom and dad are bitching about it."
"Why couldn't you of just said that when I asked?"
"Because I don't know, I didn't think it was a really big deal."
"It isn't a big deal?!" I kind of yell. Mr.Walker, the teacher looks at me.
"Sorry sir, won't happen again."
"Better not."
"I said, I was sorry." He goes back to teaching. I look back at Alexis.
"How isn't it a big deal huh?"
"It's just not."
"It is if I can't even write you the normal little notes that make you smile."
"I'm just not in the mood for them, okay." I don't say anything. The bell rings and I have chemistry again, it's a lab day. I look at Alexis and watch her put her books and stuff away in her backpack.
"I'll walk you to English if you want me to."
"Sure, whatever."
"Okay, it's a simple yes or no."
"Yes, I would love that." We walk to English. It kills me that during the day when we are around people I can't do the little things like hug her or hold her hand. I walk to chemistry. All I could literally think about was later with Alexis. My parents are out of town for the week so, this is the perfect opportunity to be able to spend time with her. I text her.
"I'm sorry I pushed...really excited about our date later😉." She texts me back.
"I don't know if I want to go."
"What? Why we haven't hung out in a week and a half, I haven't been able to hold you, kiss you, hug you, or even hold your hand."
"I know, I'm sorry I've been really busy."
"I know, but I miss you and I was really looking forward to this."
"I am sorry, I love you but I got to go."
"Okay bye, I love you too have fun in English."
"Yeah have fun in chem I'll see you next period in the gym."
"I know, see you then." Cassie walks up to me and sits in her seat next to me. I look at her.
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just ready to go home."
"Aren't we all..? It's only 3rd period though."
"I know."
"I'm sorry." Chemistry goes by pretty fast. I pack up my stuff. I walk to the gym with my head down. I ran into Alexis.
"Sorry."
"You're fine." We walk to the locker room. Everyone besides the two of us leaves. I finish changing then walk over to her and wrap my arms around her.
"Hi, baby."
"Haylee, what are you doing?"
"Stop, no ones in here I promise I checked."
"Ok." She turns around and kisses me. I smile.
"I missed that." I hear the locker room door open. I back up and put all my stuff in my locker. No one came in. I walk back over to her.
"Ya know you want to come over later."
"I really don't know depends on how I feel after practice."
"Okay well." I walk out and wait for her. We walk into the gym together. We were playing ultimate frisbee. When it comes to playing Frisbee Alexis and I are inseparable and impossible to beat us when we are together. Every team wants us on their team our dynamic duo to be on their team. This class coach separated us, which has never happened before. I look at her.
"I'm sorry."She just shrugs. We play for a while. Someone threw Alexis into the wall. I run over to her.
"Lex, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." She stands up as nothing happened.
"Let's just play." I sigh.
"You're bleeding...."
"Oh well, I'm fine."
"No you are not, come on I'll take you to the nurse."
"Okay." We walk to the nurse's office.
"You want me to stay in here or do you want me to go?"
"You can go."
"Okay." I walk out and go back to the gym. I play the rest of the class period or at least try to. I couldn't really play, I was too worried about Lex to even think about anything else. When there were 5 minutes left in the period we were allowed to go change. I go to the locker room. Alexis was laying on the bench next to my locker.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
"Fine, it was just a cut on my elbow."
"Oh well good, how's your head?"
"It hurts a little bit." A few minutes go by. Everyone besides us was in the locker room again. I help her sit up and kiss her.
"I love you."
"I love you too." She puts her head on my chest.
