Packing my stuff off of my desk into my book bag while waiting for the bell to ring, I feel something hit the back of my head.

I turn around looking to see who threw it not really caring for what it was, it was clearly Alyssa.
I rolled my eyes knowing she was just nagging me. I look down and grab the crumpled piece of paper, I scan the paper
Amethyst, it's Alyssa I know we aren't friends or anything but I'd like to be. Would you please meet me by my car after school! :)

Confused I turn around to see her smiling at me. 'I thought she hated me?' Shrugging it off I decide that I'll meet her knowing if she's planning something I can defend myself easily.

The bell finally rings, getting up I throw my bag over my shoulder and start walking to my next class since I don't use my locker.
I feel someone grab my wrist.
Wincing in pain since whoever it was grabbed onto my cuts. I quickly pulled my hand away and looked to see it was Jake.

'What does he want? It's probably just some bet, no one that's popular tries to talk to me.'
While I was zoned out thinking I look down to him holding my wrist again with my sleeve up starring at my cuts.
He looked hurt, but why he doesn't even know me.

I quickly pulled my arm away, embarrassed I start to walk away. I stop quickly turning around "you tell ANYONE and you won't have teeth" I say then turn back around speed walking to class.
He was about to say something but started walking the same way as me. 'God damnit I have this class with him,'

I got to class and sat down, "Amethyst and Jake see me after class" the teacher has announced. 'Shit'

The class ended and Jake and me had went up to the teachers desk. I had seen him looking at me through the corner of my eye but I stayed starring at my hands.
"So Amethyst you have exceptionally good grades, where as Jake you have the lowest grades in the class" she said while talking with her hands
'Shit, please don't go the way I'm thinking it is.'
She continued talking while we both listened, and I was right she wants me to tutor him.

"Is this okay with you Amethyst? It'd give you extra credit," 'god damnit I was gonna say no but I'd like extra credit'
"Yeah, sure"
Jake was smiling ear to ear at my response, I turned to him while furrowing my eyebrows and narrowing my eyes. He stopped smiling once he say the look I was giving him.
This was the last class of the day so I started walking out of the class while Jake sprinted to catch up then synced his steps with mine.

"Can I help you?" I asked a little irritated "yeah, with math" he said smiling. I rolled my eyes and stopped walking. "Okay, fine, you can come over and I'll help you but Alyssa wants me to meet her by her car first."
He looked confused knowing that Alyssa usually doesn't talk to me. "Why?" He asked I just shrugged my shoulders.

I got out of the school doors while I started walking to Alyssa's car, Jake had said he'd meet me at my house after asking for my address.

I had gotten done talking to Alyssa and all she wanted was to exchange numbers so we could start talking i had agreed not wanting to so and have her pester me to give it to her.

Once I got home Jake had already been there, he was sitting in his car waiting for me, I tapped on his window making him jump since he wasn't paying attention and was on his phone. After that I started walking into the house as Jake followed
'Let's just get this over with'
