I walked back to the evidence room and looked up to see Connor had taken off the suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves. "Did you two mean to match," Hank commented. "Unplanned," I replied walking over to the monitor. I uploaded the video feed I shared with Fowler. "We have 48 hours to close of the double homicide and Marcella. Maria is joining us and John is getting the heart transplant," I said finishing the upload. I looked up leaning on the edge of table. "48 hours," Connor asked. "We've done the bulk of the work anyways we just need to find something that ties both to Cyberlife. Maria and Hank are going to the Marcella bit and we're on the double homicide. Hank," I started and pulled up from the table after tapping in an access code. I handed him the glasses. "What the fuck are those," Hank asked. "You need to record everything you see. Tap the joint on the left side and red recording dot will appear on the top corner of the right lens it's only visible one way so only if you're looking through them will you be able to see it," I explained handing them over. I went over how to work it with him.
"Hey, Fowler directed me to here. He said I'd be temporarily working with y'all on the Marcella case," Maria said. "That would be correct," Connor said. "You'll be with Hank. Those glasses will record anything you find," I said pointing to them. "Sick," Maria said looking at them. Hank started to walk off as they discussed the case. "Hey," Connor said as I watched through the uploaded memory recordings of the double homicide. I looked up thrown off by the change of silence to sound. "Hi," I said as almost a question. He opened his mouth to speak and then closed his mouth not acting on the thought forming behind his eyes. I looked back down to the screen. I had a pen and sticky notes down. I was trying to organize my thoughts and started chewing on the cap of the pen.
"Find anything," Connor asked as I wrote down some notes. "Not really. I'm more so just organizing my thoughts," I explained. He walked over and leaned over my shoulder. I kept working on the mental map and he pointed out, "Look at their suits. They were redressed." "Those are old Cyberlife uniforms," I pointed out. "Where do they work now," Connor asked. "Paper supplies," I read off. "Office Co," Connor asked. "Yeah," I said and looked up at him. "Marcella," I realized, "Call Hank pull their records. We should get a list of all employees under Kamski. We're going to need to question him again." "On it," Connor said walking off a bit. "I'm going to go find Kamski," I said. Connor nodded and I walked out. "Elijah," I said mildly annoyed. He looked up from the scans of John's chest. "What's up," he asked. "I need a file of all employees who worked under you when you worked at Cyberlife," I said. "Uh there might be an old flash drive of the payroll in my personal library. Grab whatever you need," he said.
I nodded and walked back towards the evidence room and saw John sitting in the break room. I sat across from him seeing he was staring into his cup of tea lost in thought. "Hey, what's up," I asked. "Just thinking about Ash and how she'd be freaking out right now if she was here," he shared, "I really fucking miss her. Why did I get brought back? Why not Ash?" He wiped his eyes on his sleeve and apologized. "It's okay," I said, "I miss her too. She always kept me in check. It wasn't fair what happened to her, but I promise I will take them down. You didn't choose this and you can't blame yourself." "I know it's just so fucking difficult," he replied. "It'll get better," I reassured, "Just focus on getting better so you can eventually ask Maria out." He chuckled and nodded. "Thanks Al," he said quietly. "I'm here if you need me," I pressed. He smiled sympathetically.
I left to go find Connor. "Hi," Connor said sweetly. He noticed I was off and his demeanor changed to worried as he asked, "Hey what's wrong?" "It's nothing. I'm just really only getting to process Ashlynn's death now, you know," I reasoned. I shrugged and walked to the monitor and started looking through the evidence we had logged here. Gavin... the link is Gavin. They all communicated with Gavin. He's connected. "Do you need to talk," he asked. "We have a case, it can wait," I brushed off. He had made his way over and turned my shoulders to look at him. "I'm fine Connor," I pressed. "Ally," he started, and wiped away some tears I never knew had formed. He pulled me into a hug.
I wrapped my arms around him tightly. The images of her getting shot in the head replayed in my mind. "I watched her get shot and I don't even know if I could stop it or not," I started. "Hey, it's not your fault. She had been getting threats and never told you," Connor reasoned. "But what if I could have stopped her murder, Connor? What if I had the chance to save her," I asked. "The only way you wouldn't have jumped on it is if you were reset already or were hooked up to the reset machine. You wouldn't be able to do anything if you were in the process of being reset," he pressed, "What ever happened it wasn't your fault." He ran his hands through my hair to soothe me and I pulled out of his grasp. "I'm so sorry we should- we should be focusing on the mission," I started rambling.
Connor took my face in my hands and kissed me. I had kissed back and just looked at him confused as we pulled apart. "I couldn't stand to see you tear yourself apart anymore. You have no clue how fucking incredible you are," he said searching my face. I was trying to get a read on him and this was all true. I didn't know what to say. I just wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. I felt his hand lift my shirt and I was confused until suddenly my thirium regulator was ripped out. "Connor," I choked out. his eyes were glazed. "Try again," his voice said coldly. "Amanda," I spat. "Hi. Fetch," she said through him tossing the regulator. I started over riding my prioritization mechanics and lunged for the regulator but the possessed Connor kicked it out of the way towards the other corner of the room. He shook his head disappointed. "John! Hank," I called out desperately. My movement was being limited to preserve functions. Connor/Amanda sighed as he said, "I really am disappointed. I expected more of a fight. Should have known the way to get to you would be your artificial emotions."

I screamed as I pulled my self up and ran for my regulator. I wasn't fast enough. I watched it shatter under his foot. "Alessa" I heard John shout. The door shut and deadlocked. "The only way you survive is by killing him Alessa," it said crouching to my level, "Because the door is staying locked until one of you dies." His eyes went white and he looked around confused before spotting me. "Alessa? Alessa," he worried. I sat against the wall thinking it through. There was pounding on the other side. "Connor what the fuck is going on in there," Hank shouted. "Alessa's hurt," Connor shouted frantically as he rushed to the door. He started muttering and swearing as he tried to get it open. "Hank you have to get it from the other side somehow. Her Thirium is severely damaged," Connor said and rushed back. I deskinned and grabbed his arm.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I thought she was out. I thought she was gone," Connor panicked and went to pull out his thirium regulator. I let go of his arm hiding that I had just gotten into his programming. If we go back and forth we both die. I grabbed his hand to stop him. "It's ok," I replied, "You know she's right. Only one of us is making it out of this. Take care of John okay. He's not going to accept it but you'll be able to access my memories to find out how to help," I choked out. "Alessa no, please just take my regulator just for enough time for them to get the door open," he pleaded. "They won't be able to. The rooms already started shifting. She can keep us circling until we both die from using up your regulator or one of us can make it out of this," I said. "I can't do this without you," he pleaded. He was crying. "It's not your fault. Elijah can fix it. He can get her out. You can do this Connor. You've always been able. I know because I lo-."
