"mary, this is my friend, y/n" frank says, motioning to me

i smile and bend down to mary's height, offering my hand

she raises an eyebrow but puts her small hand in mine and shakes it

i smile "it's nice to meet you"

she smiles "it's nice to meet you too"

"alright, so i'll be back in a few hours" frank says, gathering his stuff up for work

i smile "i was going to take her shopping, is that all right?"

he nods and reaches into his pocket

i stop him "no need frank. my treat, really"

he raises an eyebrow "are you sure"

i nod, smiling "i'm sure. we're going to have a girl's day"

he nods, sending me a smile "you're the best, y/n"

i laugh "just go to work, you goof"

he smiles and heads out the door

i turn to mary "so, where would you like to go first?"

she shrugs "i don't know"

i smile "i think i know the perfect place"

we enter the mall and mary's eyes light up

"i've never seen so many stores" she says, excitedly

i giggle at her

"you lead me" i say, offering her my hand

she places her small hand in mine and leads me to a store with a bunch of dresses on display

"can we go in here?" she asks

i nod, smiling at her

she looks around for a while, pulling things out and looking at them before putting them back on the rack

"did you not see anything you like?" i ask

she looks down at the floor, shyly "i like a lot of things, but frank says these clothes are too expensive"

i smile and squat down so that i am her height

"honey, pick whatever your heart desires. i'm paying for it"

her face lights up "really?"

i laugh "really"

she runs around the store and picks three dresses

"go try them on and show me" i say, leading her to the dressing room
