Sky brimming with tears.
Thunder filling my ears.
Heart thumping with fear.
Pupils dilated in distress.
Fists tightening in defence.
I jerk...
I turn...
My hair flipping widely behind me.
The sound so much clearer now.
Clank.clank.clank
It's coming for me.
It's calling for me.
My legs then find their purpose.
Adrenaline gripping my torso.
Feet scrambling,aching thighs and bosom.
I hear it's growl...
I hear it growing.
I know it's the end.
As the legs slow down at the bend...
Almost..
Almost home...
The moon stares still.
Moonlight reflects the blood on my feet.
Blood gushing on my broken heel.
I stagger..
I feel lighter.
Then I hear the bark of Jack...
Calmly settling by my feet.
He barks as he sprints.
While I get my keys.
I get home...promising to never wear stiletto heels
To work..Ever again.
