talking for
five months
and you'd loved
me as
more than a friend
for four of those five
you told me
you loved me
five days
after the concert i'd gone to
for both of us
the concert by
those three punk rock
lads from texas
it was march ninth
and you told me
you were crying
and hurting
and i begged for you,
my van gogh
to tell me what
was causing
all the hurt
someone as
angelic
as you never deserved.
and then
after two seemingly
endless
hours of crying
from your side of the phone screen
and panicking from mine
you asked me
not to hate you
and i said i never could and
never would
and you told me
you didn't want me to
leave you
i'll never ever
leave you.
and then you told me
you're in
l o v e
with me
i remember you
panicking
as i took a moment
to gather my thoughts
and realise
the truth
and i told you
that i'm in love with you too.
