Y/N's POV

I have been looking for Eugene for what seems like forever! Finally I see one of the royal staff. I run up to him.
"Excuse me, have you seen Eugene around?"
He bowed while shaking his head.
"No miss, I have not seen prince Eugene since the beginning of the festival"
I thanked him and went to find someone else. I finally ran into Raps' mom. I waved and called out.
"Hi!"
She smiled and waved back. I ran up to her and did a small curtsey.
"Your majesty"
She kept a straight face and did the same to me.
"Lady Y/N"
We stared at each other, all the while trying to hold a straight face for as long as we could. When we couldn't do it any longer, we burst into laughter.
"Hey, have you seen Eugene around?"
She nodded her head.
"I just saw him leave"
I guess I looked confused because she  asked,
"Why, did you need to talk to him?"
I shook my head.
"Cass said he needed to talk to me"
She shrugged.
"I'll keep a look out then"
I thanked her and went out to find him.

When I finally found Eugene, he was down by the docks. I sat next to him. We sat there in silence for a few minutes until he spoke up.
"It's so peaceful over here"
I smiled and nodded in agreement. Then I poked him in the arm.
"Did you need to talk to me?"
He shook his head.
"But Raps and Cass told me you did"
I was confused. Maybe they thought he needed  me, but  he really didn't? I stood up.
"Well, I better get going. Raps and Cass need help with the laundry since all the servants have gone home"
I started to walk away.
"Actually"
I turned around and grinned.
"Now you need me?"
But he looked serious, so I came back and sat down.
"What's wrong?"
He took a deep breath and started to play with his hands.
"So, you know how me and Rapunzel have been dating for a while?"
I was taken aback. Eugene never calls Raps by her full name unless he's being really serious.
"Yeah, what about it?"
He took something out of his pocket. It was a little velvet covered box. I gasped.
"Oh.My.Goodness"
Then he opened it. It was a beautiful ring. And shaped just like a lilac flower! I squealed and gave him a hug.
"When are you gonna do it?!"
He threw his hands in the air.
"That's the problem! I don't know when"
I thought for a moment.
"Oh! How about at the flower festival! (A/N: please don't hate me) Doesn't she love that?"
His eyes lit up.
"Oh yeah!"
He stood up with a new shine in his eyes.
"Thanks Y/N, you're the best!"
He gave me a bear hug. I smiled to myself and hugged back. I broke the hug.
"Now go on! The festival is next week"
He nodded.
"Right"
Then he got up and jogged away. I shook my head and chuckled.
"Dork"
