"You sure?" he wondered, not wanting to hope for too many things all at once. They'd come so far already in the short month and a half since getting back into their lives. Her allowing for him to stay the night and in her bed had certainly been a good sigh. But if she were to truly give him a second chance, nothing could ruin his day. And he swore that he'd do everything in his power to prove to them how serious he was about them.
"Yes." she breathed. "Sometimes you've got to listen to the fight your heart it putting up," she admitted with a smile on her face as she shrugged her shoulders.
"You'd be great at writing lyrics love," he told her as she let out a soft chuckle. "I don't know about that. I think I'll stay with what I know I'm good at," she told him as she kissed his bare shoulder.
"We've all got our things love," he told her as he leant in, nudging her nose softly so he could lean in to kiss her lips. "I should go down and make some breakfast before this hungry monster wakes up," she told Glen as she leant over to kiss their son on the head. She pecked his lips before she rolled out of bed and put her robe on, before disappearing through the door.
Glen, on the other hand, was all too happy to remain in bed and hold Arthur a bit longer. The news Kate had just given him warming his heart. He was going to get his second chance. He was going to be able to start a family with them.
When he felt Arthur rubbing his face in his chest, he looked down to see his eyes fluttering open. "Good morning little man." Glen grinned down at his son, his hand running up and down his back. "Good morning daddy." Arthur grinned up at him from where he was lying on his father's chest.
"Where's mummy?" he wondered, looking around the room. "She's downstairs," Glen told him. "You want to go see her?" Glen asked him as he felt Arthur get off his chest and out of the bed before he could even throw the sheets off of them. "Wait bud," Glen called after him, but he was already gone. As much of a whirlwind as his mother, he thought to himself with a fond smile and shake of his head as he got out of bed, pulling his jeans and hoodie on.
"Mummy, can Daddy come and watch the school play at school?" Glen heard his son ask when he walked down the stairs. "Why don't you ask him bud?" he heard Kate tell Arthur, just as he joined them in the kitchen. "Eggs and bacon?" Kate asked him to which he nodded his head before sitting down next to Arthur.
"Daddy will you come and see my play at school. George and me have been practising for it." Arthur asked his dad with a hopeful tone and smile on his face. "When is it?" he asked Kate who was stood at the stove.
"Next Thursday evening," she told him as he watched her scrambled eggs. She hoped that he'd be able to join them and watch him play in the school play. She knew their son would be devastated if he wouldn't be able to make it.
"I'll find a way," he promised them, even if he'd have to get a private plane or something. He'd make sure that he saw his son's school play without a doubt. "Do you have to perform?" Kate asked him as she put the pan with the eggs on the table and divided it between the three of them.
"Wednesday and Friday. I'll make sure I can catch a flight in time to see the play." He promised her as he reached out to squeeze her hand. "Good." she smiled at him with a relieved sigh.
"Oh and by the way." she started as she headed to the sink with the pan in hands. Looking over her shoulder at Glen with a very amused smirk. He knew from experience that whenever she used that tone, he better be prepared. "We're having dinner with Will and Kate first." She told him with a chuckle as she returned back to the table with a mischievous grin on her face.
"No way," he noted with a shake of his head as he shook his head in disbelief. How was he supposed to have dinner with the future king and queen of England. Yes, he'd met the twice now when they'd dropped their kids off and came to collect them. Catherine, he'd met three times shortly when she'd joined Kate at the concert.
