"Hey Dylan. Did you hear about that new girl?" His best friend, Ryder asked. They were currently eating breakfast at Ryder's house. "She's really hot."  That sentence made Dylan choke on his cereal and ask, "What?!"
"She's just your type, Matthews. I'll see you in school." Ryder playfully punched Dylan's shoulder and smiled, then picked up his backpack, and started heading to school. A new girl in town? I should  introduce myself. Dylan has been single for as long as he could remember. Could this be the girl for him?
Dylan quickly finished his cereal and grabbed his backpack. He then ran to school, hoping to find her. By the time he had reached his school, panting heavily. He leaned on the wall to rest, gasping for air. Man I'm out of shape. Dylan thought to himself. He looked around, hoping to see the famous new girl that he had never seen before. He started thinking of all of the different hair colors she could have. Red, brown, black, auburn, blonde... The possibilities were endless. "Are you okay?"
Dylan heard a voice asking from the back of him. A quiet, gentle voice had came behind him, the voice was as soft as summer rain. Dylan had turned around, just to see a girl he had never seen before. She wasn't too tall, but not short at the same time. She had long, wavy reddish-orange hair. Her eyes were emerald green, with just a hint of yellow-gold in the middle. Words couldn't describe how beautiful she was. Dylan thought while looking at her, not realizing the time going by. Suddenly, he snapped back to reality. "Hey, you alright?" The new girl said while giggling. Dylan nearly fell when he found out who she is. "Oh, um, yeah. I'm fine, I think." Dylan fixed his hair and smiled awkwardly. "Well anyways, I'm Jade. Jade Tyler. Nice to meet you." Jade said, holding her hand out to Dylan. Dylan froze for a second, not believing that she was actually talking to him. He hen shook her hand, and replied, "I-I'm Dylan Matthew, it's nice to meet you t-too." They shake hands, then the school bell rings. "So I guess I'll see you later." Jade said, smiling at Dylan and walking to her next class. Dylan stood there for a second, trying to process what just happened there. Then, when Dylan snaps back to reality, he ran to class and took his seat. Great. History class. My least favorite subject.
"So what exactly happened?" Ryder asked Dylan, while eating his hamburger. Fifth period; lunch time was the boy's favorite period. Dylan explained exactly what happened to him while he was talking to Jade. "Words couldn't describe how beautiful she is to me." Dylan told Ryder, while imaging her sweet smile. While he was imagining, Dylan accidentally dropped some mustard from his sandwich on to Parker's jeans. "What the hell." Parker said, looking down at his jeans. "Oh, sorry about that." Dylan said, trying his best to contain his laughter. "I'll go get some napkins." Dylan says, standing up and going over to the end of the lunch line to grab a few napkins.
When Dylan had reached the napkins, he realized that he was standing next to Jade. Dylan, deciding to chicken out, just stood there awkwardly. His heart was telling him to go, while his brain told him to stop. Meanwhile all of this was happening, Dylan started imagining what it would be like to be closer to Jade. He imagined him asking her out on a picnic by the beach. Hey Jade, I've been wanting to ask you this ever since I met you. Do you want to go on a picnic with me tonight? I think maybe- "Oh, yeah, of course." Jade says. Dylan's heart completely stopped beating, and questions started roaming through his mind. Did I say this out loud? Did I ask something completely different and not notice it? Am I still standing next to her? Who is she talking to? Dylan looks at Jade, only to find her grabbing some napkins for her friend. "Hey Dylan!" Jade says while waving. "Hi Jade." Dylan says in a quiet voice and smiled awkwardly. Dylan quickly grabbed some napkins and walked at a fast pace back over to Ryder.
"Jesus, what took you so long? Did you-" "Jade talked to me again. I think I want to ask her to hang out after school." Dylan said, interrupting Ryder.  Ryder smiles and looks and Dylan, then Jade. "Awwwww." "Shut up." Dylan said to Ryder. "Your face is getting redder by the second." Ryder told Dylan. Dylan couldn't stop thinking about how he was going to ask her tonight. It has to be perfect.
By the time the final school bell had rung, Dylan had quickly grabbed his backpack, and headed over to Jade's locker. Not too long after he had arrived at her locker, Jade had just walked up. "Oh, hey Dylan! What's up?" Jade had asked Dylan. "H-hey, I was just wondering if y-you wanted to hang out later. M-maybe at around five or six." Dylan asked Jade nervously. "Of course! Where do you want to meet up?" Jade asked Dylan confidently. "Maybe at Turtle Bay?" Dylan couldn't believe this was happening. This was his chance to become better friends with her, or even more. "See you then!" Jade said, waving at Dylan, then walking away. This can't be happening. Is this really happening? Dreams really do come true.
