~Unedited~
Annora walked the halls of the school, watching the judgemental stares of the students around her. She knew why they looked, and why they all whispered to each other. She wasn't dumb.
Although they stared and whispered, they never once talked to her, afraid of how freakish she looked, and what she could do. They were all secretly scared of her, and that fascinated her.
They thought it was a disease, and if they touched her they would happen to acquire the strange disease for themselves. Annora never knew why she was born with her silver eyes, but doctors had always said it was a mystery. In certain lighting they say you can see a variety of colors in her eyes, but those were just rumors.
Her parents never really talked about it. She didn't know why It was such a touchy subject but she had always assumed they thought she was a freak too. They always said she was just special, and that was where the conversation always ended.
Of course she was curious about it, but she didn't care enough to look into it. She knew nothing would change, so why try to give herself a false hope of something she vould only dream of, being normal.
Annora shut her locker, glancing down at the tile floors before taking a breath and started to walk to her last class of the day
"And here we have the beautiful Annora Walkins walking down the hallway with her beautiful eyes and her confident strut." Katelyn said. She was Annora's best, and only friend. She also wanted to be a director, so she took her camera with her everywhere. She was beautiful, with short, red hair that went slightly passed her shoulders, and side swoop bangs that dangled passed her eyes. She was 5'10" and could totally be a supermodel.
"Kate, you literally do this everyday, some people need a break every once in awhile." She said, trying to push away the camera out of her face. She was half joking, as the smile she had on her face gave it away.
"Annnooraaaa. You know I have to film everyday, its part of my application for college, and I keep it all in my box organized for safe keeping." Kate said, giving a large smile, as if she was completely content with what shes doing.
"After this long of knowing me you you'd think youd get used to it." Kate smirked, and Annora shrugged humorously at her friends antics.
"How come you love to sing and perform yet you hate being on camera, it makes no sense because you're not even shy." Kate pouted.
"I never said I hated it, just people are so judgey and the more I put myself out there, the worse it can be for me." Annora shrugged. She didn't want to continue this conversation with Kate. She felt it was unnecessary.
"Since when have you ever been scared of what people thought of you?" Kate grabbed Annora's shoulder and turned her towards her to make eye contact.
"People have been weirded out by you your entire life so why would it bother you now?" She asked, genuinely concerned.
Annora sighed, she didn't know how to explain it.
"It's different. This is high school, after this I won't see any of them again, but out in the real world, I do one thing and everyone could hate me, and I'm not about that life."
Kate gave a small smile. She understood, she had more questions, but she didn't want to start an argument so she left the subject alone.

At the end of the day Annora couldn't wait to go home. After all, she just spent 7 hours in 4 different classrooms.
She wasn't exhausted like other kids were at the end of the day, in fact, she had more energy when she gets home rather than when she wakes up.
She got her joggers, and a plain t-shirt on, deciding to take a walk. She loved nature. She thought it was beautiful and loved smelling the fresh air.
She lived in a nice neighborhood. It was fairly small and everybody knew everybody. It was also one of those communities where everyone knows each other's business. Her mom was always strict oh her making friends as a child. She always said when she moved schools for Middle school and High school, it would be unlikely for her to see most of them, and that's where her loner side came from.
She made friends with Kate in her freshman year. They were both new and Kate was a bubbly child, so she instantly went up to Annora. Soon after, Annora started to warm up to her, and started to enjoy her company.
It's been four years and the thought of not having Kate by her side is enough to make her want to throw up.
She looked at her watch that read 3:30 and decided she had been jogging enough. She looked at her surroundings and noticed the forest line. Yes a line. One where the city folk have built a fence along the whole forest boarder to prevent children and teens from going in. Not that none haven't snuck in before. Rumor has it a ten year old died in the forest, mauled by what it looked like some kind of animal. No one talks about it anymore, simply for the fact no one really wants to address what could be in there. If the builders had seen anything when it was being constructed, none of them said anything.
She had never been in the forest, too intent on living her life and getting school over with. Not that she never thought about it, because it had crossed her mind a handful of times. She figured if she went in, it would be on her own terms, on her own time, when she felt it was right and okay to do so without feeling pressured or nervous. She knew all the rumors that circled around the forest, and how many people have went 'missing'.
Her parents made sure to remind her never to go in there, but curiosity killed the cat.
