As Jülchen made her way back to bed, she couldn't help but feel the fear set in. The soon to be constant thought of 'what will everyone else think?' The saddening thought of having to listen to her father yelling in the morning.

Although as her skinny body hit the bed, a small smile couldn't stay away, not even if Jülchen tried to hide it. Cutting your hairs means a lot. And thinking back to the moment only so shortly ago where Jülchen had stood in the bathroom with the scissors in her hand, she realised that each chunk of hair she allowed to fall to the floor, was each a layer of 'please, let me pretend to be a girl'. It was like breaking down the walls of protection from a judging world.

For now, Jülchen was open to be shot at. She didn't have anything to hide behind. And as her hair started reaching barely behind her ears, she took a step closer to being Gilbert. To being himself.

When morning came and sun rose the aura in the house was very clear. Folkert had most likely noticed the messy, spread of hair on his normally clean bathroom floors during his morning visit to the bathroom. And if not at least a grounding were to take place, a spanking of some sort would. Or perhaps both. Jülchen weren't sure, especially not as she looked in the large mirror in her room.

Looking around her room itself it was rather plain. It held the necessities, a bed, a closet. Near the window was the makeup vanity her father had put up last summer when he had overheard Feliks and Jülchen talk on the phone about how Feliks desperately wanted a new one for his birthday.

Jülchen on the other hand had barely touched makeup, nor did she want to. Her father should have known how her skin would react.

Up against the vanity could a few rolled up posters be seen. On the posters were a well known band that Antonio had introduced him to a while back, even going so far as trying to win them tickets.

But as always, something came in the way. Now all Jülchen had was old posters she hadn't hung up.

Taking steps downstairs it felt like she was dragging her legs. Dragging her body. Dragging all of her, mind and body included. Waiting to be yelled at as she entered the kitchen, instead she was left with her little brother munching on cornflakes.

"You look like a boy, Jülchen," Ludwig commented quietly before going back to his food, the few words being an inner reward for Jülchen herself.

Although as her father was nowhere to be seen, Jülchen couldn't help but stay weary, not wanting to cause more trouble than she already knew she had, causing her to simply grab her lunch and a piece of fruit, wanting to get out of the house and to school as soon as possible.

Not because she was particularly interested in what her peers would say, but because it was an easy excuse to get out of the battle zone she called her home.

Now all she'd have to do is survive a few hours of school.

So, this is hella short, but i noticed how long it really is since I've updated anything and it's been over a year for this book and people seem to be interested in it, so here you go. It's three thirty am here and I have exams in two days and this is probably shit, but hey, what can you do.

I'm probably gonna go back and edit the previous chapters to fit the story better, just a warning. Cause it's kinda cringy as it is right now and that's not really where i wanna go with his story.

Anyways, enjoy!
