"Just some towels, sheet sets and a few other things for around the house." She said making herself some tea.

"You the best." I said coming up behind her for a hug.

"You right." She kissed my cheek and sat down. "I love what you got going on here, baby."

"Thank you, Jayde helped me get a lot of it together last night."

"How is she doing? I just spoke to Tracy the other day. She was telling me about Robert trying to take her to Jamaica for their anniversary next month." She said referring to Jayde's parents.

"Ohh that sounds real nice. But, uhm, she's fine I guess. She's been acting a little weird all of a sudden." I said pouting.

"Weird like how?"

"Like she's hiding something from me. After we met some of her boyfriend's friends, things have been been a little...off I guess you could say. I just thought because I was coming back from school and everything, there'd be catching up to do. But I just feel like I'm really missing something." I vented.

"It'll take time, Willow. You know how fast life a can be. I'm sure you'll be caught up in no time. Jayde will talk when she's ready. Maybe there's something she can't figure out a way to tell you yet."

"Well, she did say she wanted to talk sometime today. Just haven't heard from her yet." I said.

"There you go. Don't worry, things will work out." She smiled.

We got to talking, more like her gossiping, and me putting away some of the things she got me.

It was headed on 4 in the afternoon when Jayde called saying she was on her way.

My mom took that as her cue to leave and gave me a big hug and kiss reminding me to relax and stop worrying about feeling clueless.

About a half hour later Jayde sent a text stating that she'd be here in a few minutes, so I went to unlock the door and replied back staying it'd be open.

When she walked in the door, I could read stress all over her face.

"Alright. Just spit it out. Something's clearly bothering you." I said once she found her way to the couch.

"I'm pregnant." She blurted out.

"Really?!"

"No." She pouted. "I just figured that's be easier to believe and digest."

"Easier than what?" Now I was really confused.

"I can't be the one to tell you, really. It should be... someone else. But that's why I'm so bothered. Because things are taking off and we need you on the same page."

"Why can't you tell me though?"

"Because I can't. I wanted to. I really did. But even Loc said it wouldn't be right."

"Well you have to tell me something. If you're going to be weird about things around me, then I don't want to be around that at all." I was really getting frustrated.

"It has to do with the guys. There's something we all need to discuss. More so, one in particular." She smirked a little at the last part.

"If this is something stupid like someone wanting to talk to me but have all y'all playing this whisper down the lane shit- I don't want any part of it." I huffed and flopped down on the couch.

"I mean- that's not technically the elephant in the room here. There are more pressing matters. But it's funny that you say that."

"Nothing is funny, Jay. I'm really getting upset here. It feels like some high school shit where I'm left out and everyone's keeping some big secret from me. What's going on?"

"I'm sorry it seems like that. I can see why it would. But I promise once the air is cleared, mouths will open and you'll find out in all due time." She said. "I wish I could be the one to tell you, but I'm here to answer any questions you may have once the cats out of the bag."

"Fine. Just one hint. Please. Something."

"Well, a little birdie told me...through the grapevine...around the way...on the low-" she went on before I stopped her.

"Jayde."

"Okay, okay... someone may or may not have their eyes set on you." She wriggled her brows.

"Who? Is that what this is all about? Is he married with kids or something?" I asked.

"No, nothing like that. It's just complicated. No baby mama, ex, or kid drama."

I couldn't help but wonder if it was Dave. I thought against it since he was so quiet and said all but five words to me since we've met.

"Whatever. I just better find out soon." I huffed and later down on her lap.

"I want you to, too. I actually hatched a little plan. If all goes well, they'll have to spill the beans sooner or later."

"What's your plan?"

This like took a weird turn, but I feel like it's necessary to keep the story progressing. I was tired of all the filler-like chapters.

I'm impatient with my own damn stories 😫. Won't make it go too fast though.

What y'all feeling?
