It was broadcasted on the news five years ago. Though, Katsuki Bakugou remembers the report as clear as if it was only yesterday he'd seen it. Why of all times the thought had arose just as he entered his new classroom at UA Highschool, he wasn't perfectly sure. Maybe it was the fact that 'heroes' had always been the main subject of the boy's chatter. Katsuki shouldn't care. Katsuki shouldn't be effected by it at all. Katsuki had hated the boy.
However, that's not at all what had happened. Katsuki's ten-year-old self had gone into a instant state of shock, surrounded by grieving mothers desperatly attempting to think of where the boy could've gone. Five years later, he still hasn't been found, suspected a suicide looking at his current mental state. Katsuki, however, didn't believe that that was true. How could a boy so, positive, kind and always smiling suicide? The look that the boy had always given him whenever they parted ways, even when Katsuki, and he admitted it, acted like an asshole to him?
He sat in his chair silently, his mouth shut and feet resting on the table infront of him. He often wondered what life would've been like for him right now if the boy had never gone missing. How would it be different? The boy had always talked about coming to UA to train to be a great hero, but, would he really have gotten in with no quirk? Katsuki pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind. Ridiculous. Of course he wouldn't of.
Katsuki probably would have even forgotten about the boy by now, but he hadn't, because those few words on that television screen now haunted him, day and night.

Izuku Midoriya. The childhood friend Katsuki had called Deku most of his life. Had gone and disapeared. Katsuki recalled the last few words he'd spoken to the boy, the last conversation he'd had with him, the place they had been, the day it had happened. Katsuki often wondered if Deku had suicided, it wouldn't have been suprising looking at it from an outside perspective. If he had suicided, maybe, maybe it was because of- Katsuki swallowed.
This is not what a future hero should be thinking about right now. A tall boy marched towards him, commanding him to take his feet off the table, going on about something along the lines of that fact that Katsuki was disrespecting the school. He wasn't really paying attention, shouting back a few swears here and there. Soon the boy, Tenya Iida was his name, had gotten distracted by a girl entering the classroom and left Katsuki to his own devices. The classroom had soon been filled with many different types of students, the desk behind Katsuki left empty.
