Chapter 23

"Everyone get out! I can handle this on my own!" Matsuri said telling the others to leave
"B-but Matsu-"
"Mom...don't worry. Just leave...I can do this. I'm not a kid anymore" Matsuri said
"That's my girl" Her mother said and left.
Matsuri sighed then glared at the demon with her golden eyes. Shinae chuckled impressed by this new transformation of Matsuri. Matsuri growled and ran up to Shinae with her katana.
"Do you think you can defeat me!?" Shinae growled and used her wing to attack Matsuri but she used her dragon wing then stabbed her chest
"I don't think so..." Matsuri said and cut open her chest
"I know so..." Matsuri growled and cut off her arm. Shinae growled and placed her hand on the chest healing it then kicked Matsuri. Matsuri stood up not feeling any pain it was like she was used to it. She didn't care about her broken rib or the pain all she acted about was protecting her family and lover. She wanted to defeat this monstrous demon. The more Matsuri thought of killing it the more power she felt through her body. Shinae's eyes glowed red and summoned her demon friends to help her kill Matsuri. Matsuri just glared at them and with her speed she cut some of those demon's heads off and blocked their attack with her wings. She wrapped her dragon tail around the demon's leg and threw the demon at Shinae knocking her down. Matsuri ran up to her and stabbed her katana at Shinae but she turned around dodging it. Matsuri kept moving quick and fast which was hard for Shinae to keep up with her. Matsuri kept swinging her katana slicing Shinae a bit. Shinae was getting weaker and tried to summon more demons for help but Matsuri came up to her and stabbed her left eye
"Grraaahhh!!! D-damnit!!" Shinae growled. Matsuri chuckled and wrapped her dragon tail around Shinae's leg then threw her hard against the wall hard. Shinae trembled and tried to get back up again but Matsuri grabbed her leg using her dragon tail and threw her against the wall harder. Shinae groaned in pain and used her wings flying away breaking the ceiling trying to escape from Matsuri
"Hey! Come back here! I'm not done with you yet!" Matsuri said and flew as well following her. Matsuri then felt the cold water since it started raining. Matsuri looked up and only saw darkness but lightning struck and saw a shadow figure which was Shinae. Matsuri growled and grabbed her leg not letting her go
"Stupid brat! Let me go!" Shinae said. Matsuri growled and crawled up to her and pulled her katana then cut off her other eye making her blind. Matsuri then cut off her two wings then let her go letting her fall down. Matsuri then flew down landing where Shinae was and was coughing blood and crawling away
"M-mercy..." Shinae mumbled looking at Matsuri. Matsuri just glared at her and clenched her katana tightly. Matsuri then raised her katana and stabbed her chest cutting it open seeing her heart. Matsuri growled and stabbed her heart furiously as blood splattered everywhere and finally cut her head off. The demon that was inside of her suddenly got out of her body and vanished. Matsuri looked at the dead body that was cut open and bleeding.
It's finally over...
Matsuri sighed and trembled then she fell on her knees as her transformation disappeared and Gina appeared in front of her. Matsuri smiled weakly and stood up clenching her side tightly then Gina crawled to her and nuzzled her neck.
"W-we should head back..." Matsuri said then started walking back to the building where her family was waiting for her.
"Woohoo!!"
"Yay!! Matsuri!!"
"You're our hero!!"
"That was amazing!!"
The Mizusawas were cheering for her but Matsuri didn't smile or feel happy.
"Matsuri! You're okay!" Her mother said running up to her with open arms.
"I'm so happy you're alive!" Her father said. Her parents went up to her and hugged her but Matsuri let out a whimper and trembled
"Matsuri are you okay?" Her grandfather asked
"M-my rib...I-I think it's br-broken..." Matsuri mumbled
"Come on let's take you to the hospital" Her father said and carried her.

Matsuri suddenly woke up by beeping sounds. She felt weak and numb. Matsuri slowly sat up and saw her parents and grandfather were both asleep. She looked outside and saw it was morning. She shook her and rubbed it softly
"H-hey mom...a-are you awake?" Matsuri asked as she tried to stand up but trembled.
"H-huh? Matsuri wait you need to lay down..." Her mother said as she went up to her and placed her hands on her shoulders.
"M-mom..." Matsuri mumbled
"What is it honey?" Her mother asked. Matsuri clenched her fists tightly then looked up at her mother with worried eyes
"T-taniguchi-senpai..." Matsuri said. Her mother's eyes soften and sighed sadly which was a bad sign for Matsuri
"M-mom is she okay?" Matsuri asked. Her mother was quiet and looked down not wanting to answer her or make her worry
"Mom! Is she okay?!" Matsuri shouted waking her father and grandfather
"Matsuri hey calm do-"
"I don't want to calm down! What happened to Taniguchi-senpai!?" Matsuri shouted. She saw the look in their eyes and it only made her feel worse inside. She looked down as her tears started to build up in her eyes.
"M-mom...please...j-just tell me..." Matsuri said a bit shaky. Her mother looked at her poor daughter and looked away
"Matsuri...the doctors told us that...she's in a coma and they don't know when she'll wake up. They think she might probably never wake up..." Her father said sadly. Matsuri's eyes widen and her body trembled
"I-I want...to b-be...al-alone..." Matsuri said as her lips trembled. Her parents and grandfather looked at Matsuri with sad eyes and left leaving Matsuri alone to think. Matsuri pressed her lips together and started letting out whimpers then those small whimpers turned into a sob. Matsuri covered her face and cried softly. She felt her heart being torn apart and cried a bit loud
"Th-this is m-my f-fault...I-I did this t-to her..." Matsuri said as she cried. She suddenly heard a small roar and uncovered her face then looked down seeing Gina. Gina looked at her with worried eyes and whimpered. Matsuri clenched her fists tightly and cried softly her tears rolling down her cheeks.
M-my fault...I'm s-sorry...I'm sorry...I-I'm sorry...
Matsuri heard her younger side cry. Matsuri curled herself into a ball and cried softly until she heard a knock
"I need to tell you something...I hope I'm not interrupting anything..." She heard an old lady's voice
"L-leave me al-alone..." Matsuri said wiping her tears
"This is important and it won't take long...Mizusawa..." The old lady said.
"F-fine..." Matsuri said looking down. Harumin's grandmother walked in and shut the door then looked at Matsuri.
"It seems you might have remembered my granddaughter's first incident..." The old lady said
"Y-yeah..." Matsuri said
"Mizusawa...once you get out of this hospital we are going to have a serious talk this time" The old lady said as she turned around and started walking to the door and opened it
"Ah...and I hope after the serious talk you'll leave my granddaughter alone...forever if she survives which I hope she does unless you might've...killed her...since you were the one that got her in this mess in the first place" The old lady said and shut the door. Matsuri glared at her and clenched her fists tightly but sighed and covered her face as tears started falling from her face
C-could I've actually...k-killed her?
