Land of Sleepers

As the sun slowly falls

The moon creeps up

Shining light onto he walls

welcoming shadows

diminishing light

As the day turns into night

now it is dark

the dogs cease to bark

All is quiet

In the land of sleepers

Some more so than others

I lay awake

not batting an eye

Gazing at the ceiling

looking back at me

Outside the stars twinkle

as the rain starts to sprinkle

I sigh and get up

closing the window of opportunity

Shutting my eyes
