Chapter 1

Chapter 1 "Break"

"Hindi ka ba nakokonsensiya? Kanina ka pa hinihintay ng boyfriend mo!" -si Kayexa.

I shoved my hand in a manner that could tell them to throw the topic because it's not interesting anymore. We are here to relax, which we all think we need, and not to get some stress.

Anyways, he asked for it. Sabi ko naman sa kanyang pupunta ako sa party kasama ang mga pinsan ko. I can't entertain his text or calls. And I didn't ask him to wait for me.

"It's his responsiblility to always wait for me. And besides parusa niya na 'yon sa 'kin, hindi niya ako binibigyan ng mahabang time na kasama siya since last last week. Bahala siyang maghintay riyan!" I pointed out and downed my wine. It burned my throat that it tickles.

"Stop being so hard to her, Lillie! You're always like that. You always let him wait kahit hindi naman dapat. We can drink some other time again just go to your boyfriend and tell him your sorry."

Umiral na naman ang pagiging ate niya. Na minsan nakakainis na. Why does she want me to say sorry e wala naman akong ginawang masama. Siya 'yong may ginawang mali. Lagi niya akong pinaghihintay kung kailan lang siya available.

I already texted him to go and we'll see each other again when he can finally give me his time na walang kahati. I hate being the last priority. Ayoko nang ganun but he keeps on giving me that feeling. At naiinis na ako.

Hindi ko sila sinagot. Kumuha lang ako ng inumin at napiling makipagkwentuhan kay Sharlach. Sa ganitong mga panahon, siya lang ang kakampi ko. Hindi kasi siya naniniwala sa relationship. Ewan ko ba! Napakacomplicated niya minsan. But for now, I'm loving it.

My phone vibrated. Nakita kong may text siya.

'Please, take good care of yourself.'

Hindi ako nagreply. Iniwan ko iyon sa mesa at kumaway kay Hugo. Nakalimutan ko na ata ang oras dahil sa tuwa ko kay Hugo.

I'm drunk. I can feel that. Kahit si ate Alcian pinipigilan na ako sa pag-inom dahil nakarami na ako. Buti na lang talaga wala si kuya rito. Baka kung meron pa 'yon hindi ako makakainom nang ganito. Kahit pa alam niyang may driver naman na maghahatid. Hindi ko alam kung bakit ayaw niyang uminom kami e samantalang siya halos kung saan-saang bahay napupunta dahil sa kalasingan.

I leaned on the couch and decided to sleep for the mean time until I can finally walk properly when I felt a hand draping on my shoulder.

I thought it's my sister o kaya pinsan ko pero hindi.

My brows formed in a thin line when I recognized him.

"Why are you still here?" I asked, still having those little pain on my head. I'm really drunk.

"Can you still walk or you want me to carry you?" he questioned me with his voice low.

It made me more angry when he asked me instead of answering.

I was distracted on the way he huffed. He looks so tired and sleepy. I moved out of his touch and pushed him. Hindi ko kakalimutan iyong ginawa niya.

"Go away!"

Bumalik ako sa pagkakasandal sa mahabang sofa habang napapansin ang pag-alis ng mga pinsan ko.

Kung kailan gusto ko siyang makita roon naman siya hindi susulpot tapus pag ayaw ko naman saka siya darating. Nakakasawa. Nakakainis.

"Lillie--"

I cut him off. I really hate talking to him tonight lalo na na parang umaakto siya na walang nangyari. Kahit meron.

"Just go, okay? I'm tired." From all what I did today, good job na nakapagparty pa ako sa sobrang pagod ko simula pa nung umaga. I must give myself a hug for doing a great job.

"Then can I bring you home?"

I sighed. "Just go! Please! May driver naman ako."

"Okay. I'll wait." He sounded so tired and a bit pissed? Really?

"Come on! Leave! Just-- fucking go! Okay? I'm. Tired."

It took him a long time to respond.

"Me too..." he said.

I smiled, trying to ignore him.

Kung ganun pala sana natulog na lang siya simula nung itext niyang naghihintay siya sa labas.

Hindi ko na alam kung ako pa ang irarason niyang dahilan pag tinanong siya bukas.

"I'm tired with this, Lillie. I tried doing my best just to see you." I opened my eyes and saw him smiled. "And yet you didn't appreciate it."

Hindi ko alam kung bakit bigla na lang akong kinabahan. He's voice and words are so damn scary.

"I understand if you choose your family over me. I understand if you choose your friends over me. I understand if you choose other things over me. I understand everything now... I understand that I am just nothing to you."

My tears start to form. He keeps on shaking his head and I was left speechless. I-- I don't understand.

"I think it's time for you to find someone who's fine being nothing to you... because I give up. I give up on us, Lillie."

"Ano bang pinagsasa--"

"Let's get this thing done, Lillie. Both of us need that break."

And he left me.

His words made me sober. I really want to run and stop him but being him, the Helmer I know, won't change his decision.

"You pushed him to do it, Lillie. You're the one at fault." -si ate.
