Maybeline, Neutogena, L'Oréal, Revlon,Covergirl. There were so many makeup brands in just one aisle, and probably a bunch more in the aisle next door. I bent down, looking at all the foundations in front of me, till I finally found one that matched my skin tone. Light/Medium. I picked it up and put it in my basket, along with the concealer, bronzer, and eyeshadow I had picked up earlier. I glanced around the aisle again till I finally found what I was looking for; BB cream. I picked it up and also dropped it in my cart, walking over to the cash registers.
I glanced at the long line and let out a sigh. It would take forever to buy these products in that long of a line, but I stepped to the back of the line anyway. I started reading glancing at magazine headlines, until a boy stepped in line behind me. Without trying to seem obvious, I threw a quick glance behind me which gave me a only slight idea of the boy. He had bright lilac hair which could be seen from a mile away, contrasting against his pale skin. He was mostly carrying weights, magazines, and healthy foods in his basket. Weight obssessed much?
I heard an annoyed cough, along with the someone saying 'Ma'am. Your total is 68.89."
"That much for makeup?" I heard the boy mutter, and in return I gave him a death stare to end all death stares. I absolutely hate having others see me buy makeup. It makes me feel foolish and fake. "Oh, um yeah sorry," I told the cashier embarassingly. Scavenging around in my wallet, I came up with my credit card, and handed it to her. Grabbing my bags, I walked out of Target, until I stopped when I heard someone calling my name.
"Ellie! Hey Ellie!"
I saw that it was the crazy haired dude who was in the line behind me. How the hell did he know my name?
"Um, hey!" He told me awkwardly when he had caught up with me.
"Um, hi." I said even more awkwardly. "H-h-how do you know my name?"
"It was written on your wallet."
"Oh."
He looked down at the ground, twidling his thumbs, and then back up at me. "Look this is going to sound really stupid but," he laughed, cutting himself off. "I wanna know why you bought all that. that makeup. I bet you'd still look gorgeous without all that expensive makeup on."
"I bet you'd look gorgeous without a shirt on." I said, remembering the weights in his bag.
I'd apparently catchen him off guard from the way his eyes widened. "What?" he asked.
"You bought a bunch of health/weight magazines, and weights and stuff.." I stammered out.
"Oh. I guess I'm insecure about myself just as you are then."
"Who says I'm insecure?" I snapped.
"Are you willing to prove otherwise?" He scoffed.
"Actually yes." I smirked. "I'm going to wash off all my makeup and show you my bare face."
"And go outside with no makeup on?"
I gulped knowing that I was going to regret this. "Yeah, definitely! Piece. Of. Cake."
"Then let's go to your place now. so you can get that junk off your face. And then I'll take you to the mall, with no makeup on.."
"Sure....what's your name again?"
"Michael," he told me, extending his hand out.
"Nice to meet you Michael." I smiled, walking back to my car.
