Ever been so mad that you were calm
Ever held your tears in your palm
Reciting psalms that'll always ever be wrongDripping agony in antagonizing ways
Pretending everything you've ever done hasn't been a waste
Keeping up on everybody else's days
Because you're locked in a phaseEver wonder why it's hard to look away
When the beach is covered by the waves
But the way isn't clear so you just stay
Still watching beauty fade away
HeyMadness is okay
Madness means emotion
Emotion means you're saved
Everyday is a battle between time and place
You're glancing in the mirror for someone else's face
But it'll never change
You are you and that's okayInsanity
Is not a choice
Anxiety
Is not a choice
Because we only feel the pressure when we feel we have no voice
Have no say between the noise
Inside our heads gets louder at any pointWe are grasping at the ledge of forgiveness
But if we only have one limb to hold our dreams
And no one can hear our screams
Because we can barely hear ourselves over the extremes
In our minds speaking lies
That we believe
How are we supposed to reachPain
Is thrust upon us
We only ever asked for someone to trust
Beside desire and lustWe asked for friendship with no bounds
But were bombarded by the sounds
From our lips as we scream and cry
Asking "you were my friend so tell me why"
As cruelty becomes a given in our livesTrust no one
One day everyone will die
