The cat in the picture is Palestar.

It was time for the Gathering. Gatherings had been fairly peaceful recently, but of course, Mistyheart still felt the same unease she always felt. I pray we have a good and peaceful Gathering!

"Hollyberry, it's time to leave!" Lizardclaw called the medicine cat. Hollyberry was playing with Tallkit and Yellowkit in the middle of the camp.

Hollyberry nodded quickly to the kits before heading over, "Sorry. We had better get going."

Palestar led the way to the Gathering, Archdrop on her heels. Peartail hung back as usual, still not really showing the sort of power a deputy would, but he seemed much more content than usual, which relieved her.

Hollyberry moved quickly. He always enjoyed Gatherings, but there was something different, a new energy about him tonight.

Lakeleap had also noticed. As the grey she cat bounded past, she mewed to him, "Calm down, Hollyberry, we're going to be the first Clan there anyway!"

Hollyberry narrowed his eyes. "I'm just excited for Palestar to reveal the news about the kits. It'll be a reminder to all the Clans that ShadowClan will always be the strongest."

Mistyheart purred, "You're right."

Tallkit and Yellowkit had settled in perfectly, as though they had been born into ShadowClan. Neither of them had any memories of life outside the Clan, and both seemed very happy, usually following Hollyberry around because he had saved them. Yellowkit had opened his eyes to Hollyberry, and Hollyberry seemed thrilled to be given a chance to get close to kits, even if they weren't his.

As Lakeleap had predicted, they were the first Clan to arrive at the island. Mistyheart shuffled nervously across the fallen tree, Hollyberry growling impatiently at how slow she was. "Sorry." She muttered, embarrassed.

It wasn't long until ThunderClan showed up. Led by Talonstar, who was gradually growing more confident in her leadership, they crossed the fallen tree with pride. Mistyheart immediately began scanning the crowd of cats for Ashfire. She hadn't been attending Gatherings for a while, not since the Clans had found out about Silverpaw and Ashfire's relationship. Moonstar seems a bit less strict, and a lot more forgiving. She's let Silverpaw come to every Gathering.

She spotted Ashfire, much to her surprise. The grey tabby looked a little nervous, as though she had almost forgotten what the island was like. Hollyberry had gone over to speak to Feathersong and Stumpypaw, so Lizardclaw and Mistyheart headed over to Ashfire.

"Lizardclaw, Mistyheart!" Ashfire seemed relieved to see them. "This island is super confusing, it's like I'm an apprentice again!"

"So, Talonstar let you come to the Gathering." Mistyheart noted, pressing herself against Ashfire in greeting. A few ThunderClan cats shot suspicious and weird looks in their direction, and Mistyheart drew away. But she's my friend!

"Finally," Ashfire sighed. "She wasn't that angry, but she said I still needed to learn my lesson, and that the other Clans might not be happy to see me, either. Especially not WindClan."

"I don't see what the big problem is," Lizardclaw gave a shrug. "You can't help who you fall in love with."

Probably thinking of Scorchtail.

But I agree. Lizardclaw fell in love with Scorchtail, I fell in love with Hollyberry and Ashfire fell in love with Silverpaw.
