The cat in the picture is Hollyberry.
Several moons had passed without much happening. Mistyheart had regularly visited her brother, and Snowy had started showing up too. Even Palestar had put her leader duties aside to meet with her rogue kits.
Mistyheart sighed, remembering how she had told her mother how Vincent and Snowy were free from the twolegs.
"Vincent and Snowy... they're both alive and well," Mistyheart explained, tensing herself, ready for Palestar's anger. "They're both living as rogues. I've known... for moons. I'm so sorry, I should have told you sooner!" She started sobbing, pressing her face into the sandy and white she cat's shoulder.
Palestar didn't move away, but her voice was filled with fury. "Why... why wouldn't you tell me?" She hissed.
"I-I don't know," Mistyheart whimpered through tears. "Vincent didn't even want me to tell you. He thinks you'll force him to come back to ShadowClan."
"Wait.. they don't want to come back?" The anger in Palestar's voice quickly turned to sadness.
Mistyheart sighed a little. "Not yet, anyway. I really wish they would."
Palestar nodded. "They're destined to live as ShadowClan cats. Vincent would make a perfect medicine cat, he has a great attitude, and Snowy has the courage and bravery of a perfect warrior."
"I know!" Mistyheart exclaimed.
The leader licked Mistyheart's head. "If they're happy, I'm happy too. But sooner or later, they'll see they belong in ShadowClan."
Mistyheart nodded, allowing her mother to draw away from her.
"I'm so sorry for not telling you sooner." The fluffy she cat apologised weakly.
Palestar looked away from her, stalking out the den, "I'm going to go hunting with Archdrop. Try to make yourself useful."
Luckily, Palestar was a forgiving cat, but in this situation, it had taken the leader a long time to forgive Mistyheart. Mistyheart was fine with that. She had made a huge mistake.
"Mistyheart!" Hollyberry bounded over to her. "Can you please come with me to collect herbs?"
"To collect herbs?" Mistyheart's pelt prickled nervously. She still had a slight fear of herbs, always wondering whether they were secretly dangerous, though she knew they were the complete opposite. "Um... are you sure you should be asking me?"
Hollyberry nodded quickly and eagerly, kneading on the ground. "I have no apprentice, and if you want, I can just show you what the herbs do and what I use them for. I won't make you touch them if you're really scared."
"Okay then." Mistyheart couldn't lie, she was dying to spend more time alone with the ginger tom, even if she felt incredibly uneasy and awkward. Glancing towards the nursery, she could see Bluekit, Peartail and Lakeleap's daughter, watching curiously. Lakeleap had given birth to two kits, but one of them had died almost immediately, leaving Bluekit as the only survivor. Songflight, having decided to take another mate after the death of her first, had also given birth to kits, but they had been taken by a badger, much to the queen's grief. Her two older kits, Swiftpaw and Olivepaw, had left the Clan, and her second litter of kits had died young. Bluekit was fairly quiet, and being the only kit in the nursery left her with no cats her age to socialise with. She had occasionally visited Hollyberry in his den to watch him look after his patients and even sometimes just to sort out herbs, and Mistyheart wondered whether the shy she cat had an interest in being a medicine cat.
