I grab the torch and set the trail of gasoline on fire.
I follow their instructions by the letter, walking away once I start to feel the heat increase. Being one step away from burning to death would usually be quite frightening to most people, not for me though. I love the heat it gives like it's the last burst of life in something about to die. I love the color, the bright orange shade reminds of my childhood bedroom before our house was lit on fire. Being so close to a fire, something that holds so much power but can also be the most innocent and protecting form of matter gives me a sense of familiarity. It reminds me of my family, what I once had.
I stand with my eyes focused on the burning warehouse. I did what they told me to do.
I watch the fire grow taller and wider, the flames lighting up the sky, changing the dark blue hues of the horizon into a dark orange aura.
I love the ashes, and pieces of the building that fly off the sides. It's like they're trying to escape, if only they could know, there's no escaping the burn.
Once the fire dies out, I walk away.

"Zara, sweetheart are you here?" I question into through the empty kitchen.
"One second, I'll be right there" Zara comes into the kitchen.
"So darling, I was thinking about our little vacation. How about we drive to California? It's a bit of a long drive, about 6 hours, but I'm up for it if you are?" I ask her, hoping she'll like the idea.
"That sounds perfect! We can take turns driving to make it easier" She says, excitement filled in her voice"
"How long do you think we should go for? I was thinking maybe a week."
"A week sound good, I'm just excited to be alone with you for a while" Zara answers, sounding very happy. If only she knew the surprise she's gonna get.
"I promise you that you'll adore it, sweetheart, it'll make you never want to leave."
