"One step, two steps, and look at what we've found... Three pretty dead girls, lying on the ground!"

Violet awoke to the sight of a thin white sheet draped over her, her eyes flitting upwards to meet wounds of light seeping through the dirty cotton

Violet awoke to the sight of a thin white sheet draped over her, her eyes flitting upwards to meet wounds of light seeping through the dirty cotton. The air hanging about her felt heavy, a malodorous scent clinging to the fabric of which she lay under. Like a corset, her lungs began to restrict. She felt like a corpse, stagnant and waiting to be discarded of.

That very moment was when she realized that this was indeed a possibility.

Before she allowed her mind to wander, she focused on breathing steadily and thinking straight. Sonia always prioritized this vital step in success: Rule Number 1 - always be smart.

A realm of possibilities entered her mind, flashes of Leah's infamous weapons conquering her stream of thoughts. She looked down at her arm, and her needle-injecting diamond bracelet was gone. Violet swore underneath her breath.

Magic. She had to use magic.

Almost immediately, she grabbed a fistful of the sheet and discarded it onto the ground. Standing up, she surveyed her surroundings and found herself in an almost entirely empty room. Gray floors, and dull, ashen plaster peeling off of the walls. A sickly, ivory hue was emitted from the lamps hung above.

It was almost as chronically devoid of beauty as Violet was of self-assurance.

Two bodies had been lined up next to her. All she needed to see was the flash of red hair underneath, and she bent down to tear the sheet off of Katya.

"Get the hell up," Violet hissed at her. "There's no time,"

Katya's eyes flashed open. "You're an idiot sometimes. I was waiting for the chance."

"Shut up and get moving!" Leah exclaimed, rolling out from underneath her own white sheet. Disorientated as ever, she churned her head so as to glance at her back, discovering a small gash on her skin.

"Diorthono," Leah murmured. A vibrant light blossomed in the palm of her hand. She lay her fingers on the small wound, and it began to mend itself like a glowing frame of patchwork. Narrow wounds of skin intertwined on their own, before sealing off the cut completely.

"They must have thought they'd killed us," Katya sneered. "Well, they're about to get the biggest jumpscare of their pathetic little lives."

Whilst others may have taken longer to comprehend the situation, the girls knew there was no time to dwell. Whatever past mistakes they'd made had been erased now. They had the upper hand; not only had their powers rejuvenated, but they were also thought to have been dead. It was very much possible for them to leave the place victorious... Rule Number 2 - always be confident (for good reason).
