I woke up screaming my step mother came in "Its okay don't scream you'll wake up your brothers." She scolded "Go to sleep Annabeth." She said
I knew my Dad wouldn't come home until midnight I cried for a long time my nightmares still had spiders "Daddy, Father." Annabeth yelled
"Annabeth". Her father said "What's the matter." He picked my out of my bed and put me in his lap he smiled I was so scared that he'd yell at me. "what were you dreaming about Annabeth." He asked me
"Dad it's the spiders again." I cried
"Honey, You know I'm always going to be here for you." He said
"Yes." I said "Daddy I can't take the nightmares anymore there really scary."
"It's alright sweetie, I'm never going to hurt you." He said
He put me into bed and I was asleep. I woke again but it was day screaming. "Annabeth." My dad yelled "Be quite your baby brothers are asleep."
I quickly changed grabbed 170$ from my step mothers wallet and I came I to the kitchen with the cash in my hand I grabbed my jacket that's nice and warm . "Annabeth eat than we are gonna have a talk." Step mother said
"No." I yelled
I grabbed by jacket and ran out the door angry my dad chased after me I ran faster "Annabeth Chase." He called
I didn't answer and kept running with tears in my eyes I didn't stop until I was tired. "What do I do now?" I grumbled
"Annabeth there's kids who can help you along the way I'll guide you towards them that's all I can do Annabeth." A voice inside my head said
"Who are you." I thought
"I'm your real mother." The voice said
"What's your name." I thought.
"Athena." The voice said
"Where are these people who can help me survive." I thought.
"Luke and Thalia They are in Nevada right now by sundown you could beet them there cause that's were there going." Athena said
"Mom." I though
"Annabeth." Athena said in my mind
"Where's Virginia from here." I thought
"That's what I'm here for." The voice said "Keep walking about 50 miles and there's a sign that says in 1 Mile Virginia I'll keep track of Thalia and Luke and let you know ok." The voice said
"Can you talk to them like your doing to me." I thought
"I can't." The voice said "go west my daughter and You'll find them. I can guide you until you meet them." The voice said
"Mom dad talks about my birth like it was the worst thing in the world why?" I thought
"You'll understand more when you find them honey." The Voice said
"So I'm supposed to go west to Virginia to find them." I thought
"Yes go for about 15 miles and rest go about that much before you rest again. There's going to be attacks on the way so be prepared." The voice said
"What do I do." I asked to the voice
"Keep going I'll ask a couple of my siblings to keep you safe they'll do it." The voice said
"Okay." I thought
I wanted to ask more questions but the voice went away so I follow my mothers directions I see a big rest stop with food in about 6 miles I've already walked 9 miles I dreaded towards the rest stop. i saw a man in jeans and a black t shirt "Hello sir, Do you know how far Virginia is from here." I asked
"Hello I'm Apollo god of the sun. Your mother asked me to help you get where you need I can help you only for 16
miles than I have to leave." Apollo said
Then the same voice came into my head again "He is Apollo god of the sun and at the next stop he has to go to Olympus." The voice said
"Ok I trust you." I said
"Good Daughter of Wisdom." Apollo said "you want to ride in a convertible." Apollo asked
"Sure." I said
I went with him people actually believed he was my dad but he wasn't my father. "What's going on with everyone that's looking at us." I asked
"Oh they just see a 7 year old girl going to a car with her father." Apollo said
This time was much faster I saw a road sign "Virginia next exit" I smiled "can you take me to the next exit to Virginia." I asked
"Sure kid." Apollo said
"Who's Athena." I asked
"Your mother of course." Apollo said
"Why does she want me to go to Virginia." I asked
"You'll find out soon but there may be some unwanted visitors on the way so to help you here's this." Apollo said while pulling out a hammer.
"Thank you." I said
"Kid I can take you another 2 miles than I have to leave Kid ok." Apollo said
"Ok." I said
The 2 miles felt short to me "Annabeth." The voice I heard earlier say
"Yes." I thought
"I see you got the help I sent you great." The voice said "when you get to Virginia that's when I must leave." The voice said
"Okay." I thought
"Kid I'm sorry our rides been fun. But I have to get back to work." Apollo said
"I understand." I said
"Follow the instructions." Apollo said
"What." I said
"You'll understand later on." Apollo said "by kid." Apollo said
"Ok." I said
"Good job My child." The voice said "It's been wonderful speaking to you my dear see you soon." The voice said
"Why do you have to leave." I asked
"I have to I wish I could but my dear I can't." The voice said
Then just like that it was gone. I am tired and hungry I thought. I decided to go to a dark alley and I found a box to block me off so people couldn't see me and a old curtain and rug. I heard noises and I panicked I looked up and saw a monster It looked at me I picked up my hammer and attacked it I went for its eye and it's claws went for my face but I turned my head quickly it got to my hair and it knotted it up badly and I just realized I was in Flannel Pajamas and a blue t shirt. I brilliantly hurled my hammer at the monster and it vaporized and dust was everywhere I barely kept me eyes open I put my head against the rug and I heard another voice say "Something's down there."
