"It'll get better and then we can play together," Glen told him, looking towards Kate, who was smiling down at them. Love and adoration shining in her eyes and he couldn't help but return a smile.
"So did you have fun with George?" Glen asked as Arthur nodded his head eagerly.
"We played in the playroom, we went to the park, went to see the horse, went to the beach. we watched Will and mum play tennis. Aunty Kate even made us muffins." Arthur listed in his enthusiasm as Glen let out a small chuckle. Kate couldn't help but chuckle at her son as he listed all the things that they had done.
"Did she now? Were they any good?" Glen asked him with a smile, silently wondering how they could be so close, even after having heard the story and having seen them interact twice now.
"Of course Aunty Kate makes the best muffins but uncle Will always takes them when she isn't looking." Arthur giggled as Kate rolled her eyes, silently shaking her head. Harry and Will were always stealing the muffins whenever Kate made them.
"Can you make muffins?" Arthur asked Glen. "I can't make muffins." He told him with an apologetic smile in his son's direction. He would try though it made him happy. "I'm sure your mum can though." he tried, looking at Kate.
"She makes the best pancakes, Aunty Kate makes the best muffins," Arthur told him in a sassy manner as Kate rolled her eyes at her son;
"Excuse me." Kate apologised as she got up to pick up her ringing phone. She'd gone been gone from the museum two days now, which wasn't the best time right now. They had just started the remodelling of an underground floor. Once it had been used as storage for fossils. Now it was going to become their planetarium and space wing. It had been something that Kate had overseen, all the plans and everything to do with it. It had been her idea and she loved that she'd be able to add her love for space to the museum she loved so much. It would encompass all the great things about Natural History from that moment on.
They were expending the museum by three football fields by using the two lower ground levels. That was only what people would be able to visit, the building for research and storage would be extended as well in collaboration with another off-site building.
"Can you come to the museum today? I'd like to go over some things." Jenkins told her. "I won't be here for another three weeks," he added as she looked towards her son sitting on Glen's lap.
"I don't know, My babysitter isn't back from her holiday yet," Kate told him as she noticed Glen's head turning towards her. "I can watch him if you want." he mouthed to her with a hopeful expression on his face. "Kate?" she heard Jenkins ask in her ear.
"I'm on my way," she told him. "I'll be there in ten," she added, before ending the call. "Are you sure?" she asked him as she walked up to Glen and Arthur. "Of course I'm sure he's my." he stopped himself just in time as Kate's eyes widened in surprise and a clear warning directed at him.
"Alright." she sighed softly, bending over to kiss her son's head and Glen couldn't help himself but breath in her familiar scent. "If there is anything call me. There is juice in the fridge as well as dinner it still needs to be prepared though. Don't him any sugary treats, he's had enough of those in the last two days." she told him in a motherly manner and he couldn't help but smile at her. "Don't let him fall asleep please, just read him a book or put a movie on, he'll show you what he wants. If you can't reach me on my cellphone, there is a number on the fridge, you'll be able to get through to me that way," she explained as she hurried around the place, getting papers and folders before sticking them in her briefcase.
He couldn't help from stopping her in her rambling. He could understand her to worry about leaving their son alone with him. It would be the first time. But Arthur was his son, he wouldn't do anything to risk the faith and trust that Kate had started to put in him. Nor would he endanger his son, but then again she had raised their son and there were certain rules she'd put in place.
