Mistyheart nodded. Is he talking about the message about the prophecy being ruined?
Hollyberry meowed slowly, "Before I say anything, I'd like to say I'm not accusing any of you of anything." His amber gaze swept over the cats, pausing briefly on Lizardclaw. I still don't think it's Lizardclaw. He seems pretty harmless to me.
"Spit it out, then!" Gorsepelt snapped. "We're waiting." She nodded towards Goldenblaze, who looked as though he might explode at any moment.
Hollyberry growled under his breath before speaking again. "The StarClan cat told me," he paused. "One will turn, swiftly destroying the destinies of those who are chosen."
"So, you think one of us is going to be a traitor?" Gorsepelt asked.
Hollyberry sighed. "I don't mean to be rude, but yes."
Mistyheart was tempted to throw the blame on herself again, but she decided to stay quiet. But it has to be me! I've messed up so much already!
"Maybe it's Seedheart," Minnowpelt suggested. "She didn't attend this meeting. It seems as though she's turned her back on us already."
Hollyberry paused for a few seconds. "You could be right, but I don't want to accuse her yet. Maybe she just doesn't feel ready to attend meetings yet."
"Why not?" Goldenblaze growled. "She should be trying to fulfil the prophecy. It's more important than any of her personal issues."
The ginger tom narrowed his eyes. "She's living as a rogue now. I'll look out for her, and try to convince her. Goldenblaze, I know you're right. It's just that I have no clue where she is now, and I don't know whether she will still be angry or not."
Probably still angry.
"Well, just know that I'm certainly not the one ruining the prophecy," Goldenblaze stated. "I'm loyal to my Clan, but I'm ready to listen to whatever StarClan has to say."
Lizardclaw looked nervous. "What if it's me?"
Hollyberry snapped his head around to face the grey warrior, his expression dark. "Just watch your step." He told Lizardclaw.
Goldenblaze looked a little confused. "I don't think it's Lizardclaw," he mewed, looking at the ground for a few moments. "But there's something else I need to say. I was training in the Dark Forest, but I've left now. Vincent and Peartail were training there too, but we all left. We're all completely loyal to StarClan."
Mistyheart had already found out that Vincent had visited the Dark Forest before and had suspected that Peartail was training there, but she hadn't known about Goldenblaze. It didn't really come as a shock to her, however. Thank StarClan it seems as though they are free of the Dark Forest now! I hope they are!
There was silence for several moments, and Mistyheart started to feel uneasy. Glancing in Lizardclaw's direction, she saw the fur on his back was spiking slightly, his fear scent rapidly becoming stronger.
It was Gorsepelt who spoke first. "I'm glad you broke free of the Dark Forest when you did."
"Why do you care?" Goldenblaze growled in confusion, narrowing his eyes at his Clanmate. "You don't even believe in StarClan."
"Wait, she doesn't?" Lizardclaw sounded confused, but not hostile. Instead, he smiled. "There's nothing wrong with that."
The brown tabby warrior shrugged. "Sure I might not believe, but if those cats are happier now, whatever happened must be good."
Hollyberry's ears were pricked with interest. "We used to talk with two rogues who train in the Dark Forest. Seedheart caught prey for them and they gave us some information... but really not much. Usually they just spoke about their own training sessions. The only relevant thing those mousebrains ever told us was that Cloverstar was training in the Dark Forest," he continued, "So... who else is training there?"
