Darkness... Darkness surrounds me, enveloping me. I try to struggle free, but there is no escape.
I shiver in the coldness of the shadows I'm floating endlessly in. Cold... So cold.. Why..?
My eyes quickly open, and I slowly sit up in my bed, shaking ever so slightly.
Choking back a whimper, I pull the sheets up, grasping into them as if for dear life.
"No... I'm okay.. Just another nightmare..." I reassure myself, and in that moment, I'm thankful that I don't share a room with anyone else.
I wrap my arms around my shoulders, as if giving myself a hug. What can I say? It's a calming feeling.
Taking a small breath in, I sigh as I wipe a stray tear from my cheek. Everything's all okay..
