"I know I just don't want him to think you're going to abandon him, just after he knows you're his dad," she told him with a worried tone as she dropped her head to her chest. "I won't let that happen," he promised her, cupping her cheek in his hand and rubbing his thumb back and forth.

"How about you come and see together, we're playing at the O2 and Wembley arena first?" He asked her with a hopeful tone. he'd love nothing more than to have his son and hopefully future girlfriend and wife there. To show them off and be a family, just like Mark did.

"I don't think a concert is a place for a four and a half-year-old to be," she told him with a small chuckle and shake of her head. "Mark's kids come by all the time," he told her, hoping she'd agree to it.

"Or maybe you could come by without Arthur, you can bring someone if you'd like that?" he offered, knowing that Mark's kids had been hell on heels at that age when they came to see concerts. And seeing Kate there already would be a huge step for them, it would mean the world to him.

"I'd like that. I never came to see you guys cause I didn't want to run into you," she admitted with a sigh and sheepish shrug of her shoulders.

"I doubt I'd find any tickets now though," she told him with a tilt of her head. "Just tell me how many tickets you need and I'll arrange it," he told her in a rushed manner. "Alright, I'll let you know when I asked someone," she told him, thinking about who she could ask to come with her and help her protect her traitorous heart in the process. Most of her friends would be all to happy to push her towards him though.

"Anyway, we better get some sleep, They'll be up bright and early," she told him with a chuckle. "Goodnight Kate," he whispered, kissing her cheek and he felt her body shivering beside him. "Goodnight Glen," she told him as she turned around and headed up the stairs.

Kate had been right that the kids were up bright and early. She'd still been asleep when George and Arthur had come storming into her room, jumping on the bed and cuddling up to her.

"Hey boys," she whispered, kissing the side of her son's head and running her hand through George's hair as Charlotte still slept beside her.

"Mummy, aunty Kate we're hungry," they told her as she let out a chuckle whilst shaking her head. "Of course." she chuckled, tickling both their side. "Stop mummy, stop Aunty Kate." both called out as she gave them a smile. "Why don't you go down, I'll be there in a second," she told them, knowing Glen was downstairs. She grinned to herself knowing that he wouldn't be sleeping much longer with those two.

Getting up she wrapped her robe around her and headed for the door. She heard laughter coming up the stairs, which brought an instant smile on her face as she descended them. She found the two boys looking over the back of the couch at Glen who was still asleep. "Why don't you wake him up?" she suggested with a mischievous smirk on her face as they grinned at her and rounded the couch. She watched them look at each other to simultaneously jump on Glen. She felt some sympathy for him as he jumped up in surprise before he grinned at them.

"Good morning." he greeted her as he walked into the kitchen and found her dressed in a robe and behind the stove. "Morning," she told him with a small smile as she took three glasses from the cabinet and filled them with orange juice. "You want coffee, tea or orange juice?" she asked him as she put the two glasses in front of George and Arthur now sitting at the table.

"Coffee please?" he asked her as she pulled a mug from the cabinet and made him a coffee. "So who wants eggs and bacon?" she asked as she looked towards Arthur and George as they called out: "Me, Me."

Hearing the light footsteps, she turned towards the stairs where Charlotte came down, rubbing her eyes. "Morning little one." she greeted Charlotte. "morning Aunty Kate," she whispered as she came to give her a kiss, before joining her brother and Arthur as Kate put a glass of orange juice in front of her. "You want some eggs and bacon?" she asked Glen as he stood beside her, drinking his coffee and watching her interact and handling everything so easily.

"Yes please," he told her. "Could I take a quick shower?" he asked her as he ran his hand over his light stubble and couldn't help but love the rougher look. "Of course, just up the stairs, second door on the right, the towels are in the cabinet," she told him.

Ten minutes later he came down, his hair still wet but looking refreshed as she put a plate of eggs down on an empty spot. "Thanks." he mouthed to her as she gave him a small smile.

"Mummy, can we go to the zoo today?" Arthur asked her with a hopeful tone. Sometimes she really hated the fact that she couldn't do the things she sometimes wanted when she considered her niece and nephew were with her. It was the only thing that annoyed her about the friendship with Will and Kate, but it was only a tiny aspect which made up their much bigger friendship. It was a tiny price to pay at the end of the day really.

"Not today little man," she told him with a sad smile. How could she explain to children that weren't even five that George was the future King? That he was sat with a Prince and Princess, it wasn't like they'd understand. He basically grew up beside them. They saw each other almost every day even outside of school. Even Kate, William and Harry were just Aunty Kate, Uncle Harry or Arry as he'd long called him. Or Uncle Will used to be uncle Bill.

It was the beauty of childhood, sometimes she wished she could return to being so naive and innocent. To not have to worry about the pressures of life and everything around it.

"How about I teach you two boys a song on the piano." Glen offered, nodding to the piano in the corner of the living room. "YES." both George and Arthur called out in excitement. "Thanks." she mouthed to him as she finished baking the second round of eggs and bacon.
