Chapter 2

"Okay,keep it down,Remi...let's just go to the roof and we can talk about it there,whatever it is." Seraphina whispered urgently

They made their way to the stairs in awkward silence,Remi giving Seraphina worried glances.

After a few moments,they arrived at the roof. Before Seraphina could get the roof access door shut,Remi started to ramble worryingly

"I heard that one student saw you with bruises on your leg,and another on the back of your neck and I got worried is all! What if something happened and I couldn't do anything,and so I found you and now we're -"

Seraphina sighed,"Im...alright,Remi. It was probably just some gossiper-"

Remi tilted her head slightly,"Huh? But theres one right there?" She pointed to a spot slightly hidden by her jaw.

Seraphina took out her phone to look at herself.

There it was,a coin-sized hickey half-hidden by her jaw.

"Oh- uh....how did that get there?" She said innocently.

"Maybe you hit it on something when you were asleep!" Remi suggested

Okay,thats so far from the truth,but too close.

"Maybe." Seraphina replied.

Remi stared at her for a moment longer,then nodded.

"I'll be off,then. Gotta get to class!" She chirped.

Seraphina let out a relieved sigh,letting herself slump down onto the familiar cement wall.

-John's POV-

He rushed to class,glancing at the nearby clocks indicating it was nearly time for homeroom.

Picking up his pace,he ran until he caught sights of his class.

As he pushed open the classroom door,he heard the chattering of the other students,followed by the teacher greeting him into class.

"Mr...Doe..glad you could make it."

John gave him a small nod,but anxiety grew inside him as he noticed his teacher's curious tone.

As he sat down in his seat,John realised he didn't have his usual school vest on. And only now had he found out in his rushed frenzy to get out of the dorm in time for class had he forgotten to put on hair gel.

Could you forget anything else?,he thought to himself angrliy.

It wasn't until then he noticed some of the other students- Mainly Blyke and Isen,giving him curious glances as well.

But before he could do anything,the homeroom teacher,Mr Vince,gave the 'ok' to start the lesson.

John sighed as he closed his textbook. As he was keeping some other books in his bag,Blyke had approached him.

"Hey, John? Did you come home last night?" He asked.

John's face flushed a dark red,"Ah- n-no. I didn't " he stuttered

Blykes face turned into a look of confusion,"Well..where did you stay the night?"

John tried looking for words,"I- uhh-"

"He slept over at me and Seraphina's!" Elaine butted in, her voice had hints of nervousness

John turned to face Elaine,giving a small sigh of relief.

Blyke nodded,"One more question. What's that on your neck,dude?"

John's heart stopped as he felt around his neck. His fingers grazed over a small bump inbetween the crook of his neck and his shoulder.

So THAT'S what you forgot.

"Thats-"

He got caught off by the familiar ringing of his phone.

"Hold on,let me take this." He smiled awkwardly, reaching into his pocket to pull out his phone.

Oh. Sera.

"'Ello?"

"Hey. Where are you right now?"

"About to come up to the roof. Why?"

"Get over here already."

"Sure. Meet you in a sec."

As he ended the call,he stood up and chuckled awkwardly at Blyke and Elaine,"Sorry,Sera's looking for me."

The nodded off to him as he walked off and made his way to the roof.

John pushed open the roof access door. He found Seraphina leaned against a corner of the wall.

"Took you long enough." She smiled.

John took a seat beside her. A small trace of content on his face.
He glanced at her,"Are you...okay?" He kept his gaze on the ground,anxiety welled up inside of him.

Seraphina's eyes widened slightly as she noticed John's reigid posture and  adverted gaze.

"Oh- No. John, this isn't about last night,is it?" She straightened herself up as she waited for his response.

"Wh- What if I hurt you? What if things change? For the worse? I-if I took advantage of you? I- I just want to know...what happens now?"

Seraphina stared at him, she was speechless. Yet she could admit she agreed. What were they now? What did they do?

John sighed. "You don't have to answer that I just...Im scared. I love you, Sera. I do. But do you love me back?"

" 'course I do. " Seraphina sighed. "What do you wanna do?" She asked.

"I wanna be with you." He answered back.

"Well, you're here now? You are with me-" Seraphina pointed out.

"No- Not like that." John mumbled.

"Like what, then?"

"Like, Be My Girlfriend, Dammit..."
