He slightly frowned, raised his eyebrow and then a little smirk found its way on his face. Then, a coach called him, making him go on the field. Members of the team were on the field.
The are fifteen players and they got into a scrum. The whistle was blown and in that moment, silence found its way on the tribunes. Only the sound of the rugby ball and running of the players has been heard.
"This is nerve-wrecking. It's messing with my adrenaline." I discuss while watching our players. Even though I just came to this school, I already feel like a part of it.
"Girl, I feel you." She said and I looked at her on the verge of laughing.
"That came out wrong." I started laughing together with her.
"Yeah, it sounded a lot better in my head." She commented.
"I just hope this is gonna end soon and with a good result."
"Girl, the game is over in 80 minutes, that's hour and 20 minutes."
"I know. Look now, they all get into scrum. It's the most important during the game. Even a minor infringement and the game needs to be restarted. A team is made up of 15 players and-"
"How do you know all that?" She cuts me off.
"Well, I like it as a sport so I learned about it a little bit."
"Sure, a little bit." She grins and slightly punches me in the elbow.
"Just watch the game." I said.
As soon as I finished talking to her, the opposite team made a score. Damn, they got five points!
Half of the game already passed and our team isn't any good. I see now what she meant by never winning against them.
"This isn't going to end well. Anyway, Hannah. Are there any classes after today's match?"
"Nah, the teachers never make us come back to the class. Actually, they tell us that we can go home. There are no classes after the match."
"Great! Then, I'll go now."
"Aren't you gonna stay till the end?"
"Nah. I need to help my dad with something, too. So, I'll just go and you enjoy the game. You need to tell me later what happened, deal?"
"Sure, I'll see you tommorrow, then. Is that okay?"
"Of course."
She gives me a big hug and before I left she waved at me. She's such an awesome girl. And she's too cute.
I leave the tribunes and slowly go away. While leaving the school I dial dad's number.
"Hey, dad. Teachers let us go home because there's some game so you can pick me up. Yeah, I'll wait in front of the school."
In few minutes, dad picked me up.
☆☆☆☆
"Damn, these bags are so heavy!" My dad said and put the bags on the counter, stretching like he moved a wall of bricks.
"Come on, dad! You're not that old that you need to hold your back like Spongebob's grandma." I rolled my eyes giving him confused look.
"Look, young lady! You could've helped me carry those but no, you had to open that jar of Nutella first, didn't you?" He sat on the chair.
We were just in a shopping and bought some food. I'm not gonna starve.
"Dad, it's not just that Nutella. It's XXL and you know how much I love it!"
"I sure do! You would do anything for it. Even eat my brain cells if I haven't bought it for you."
"I'm going to eat now." I completely ignore what he said. "Thanks for buying it, dad!" When I opened the jar, I put the sweet, magnificant taste on the bread.
Dad started to make his sandwich when I laughed.
"Dad?"
"Hm?" He asked but didn't avert his eyes from the sandwich he was making.
"Do you know what I have in common with Victoria's Secret best model?"
"Let's see. Um...something called brain?"
"What? No! And ouch!" He meant that brain was probably all I had in common with the models. Such an offensive attitude.
"Then what?" He laughed.
"I'm hungry, too." I answered with a smirk and wiggling eyebrows. He looked at me with a blank expression.
"Exactly. It's annoying how much you can eat."
"Well said." I continued eating and looked on the clock.
"It's already 9 p.m. I should go to bed, dad. I don't wanna be late tomorrow."
"Good night, Princess."
"Good night, pops.",I ate my sandwich and went into my room.
I layed on the bed, tired from the first day.
It wasn't that bad. I mean, I just run into a captain of the rugby team and a Queen Bee of Eastwood High. I hope that they'll forget about me. I mean, who would remember me? They probably forgot about it already. Let's just go to sleep peacefully, with no worries.
My thoughts travelled, making me think about my mother.
My mom died when I was 10. She had a car accident when we weren't with her. We had home. We weren't moving so much like this. We had a real home. But since mom died, dad took all the responsibilities and it was just a big burden for him, for us. The memories we shared with mom at that house made us feel nauseous and trapped. He decided to move. He thought it was the best solution. At that time, it was another house. The time we spent there lasted shortly. After the fourth house, I didn't even count anymore. We moved mainly because of dad's work.
I miss mom so much.
This is the first time I feel this way. The way where I want to make friends and maybe find love. I hope that this is our last house. It's just hard. Every single time when I find a friend, a connection with him or her is cut off because of the moving and the distance. I just want to live like every normal teenager. Have a house in which I can make a lot of memories with my parents. Make friends, ones that I'll be seeing every day in a familiar school. I want teachers whose faces I'll remember and never forget.
I'm not asking much, right?
