Devi Rossi never questioned her father about the constant relocations he'd put their family through, nor did she question him on his many rules that at times, seemed to suffocate her the older she got. In fact, it'd been a while since they'd been forced to move away due to her father's work and she'd allowed herself to believe that she'd play out the rest of her life-at least her adolescent life anyway-in their small town, just outside of Pittsburgh.
She was a rule follower and her father had drilled it into her that good things happened to those who followed the rules.
A rule which might explain why a few days after she'd finally broken the rules, her father was killed in front of her own eyes in an ambush at their farmhouse.
But some might say there was a better explanation for leaving her scared and orphaned. Like how Jack Rossi was part of the wit-tech program in exchange for inside information on a notorious Gang Leader named Hawk.
Devi seemed to be collateral damage in a dangerous game, but Hawk wanted more than just Jack's silence.
After all, Ohana meant family. And family meant that no one got left behind...or forgotten.
Devi was very much family, and she had no choice but to play the hand she'd been dealt.
