Chapter 1
Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing nowhere, somewhere, everywhere. How can nothing be somewhere when it's nothing? If it's nothing, isn't it everywhere? Then does that make it everything since it's everywhere? Complicated, but unfortunately, that's where our dearest Marinette found herself. In the nothing. In everything.
Marinette looked around and took her first step. She heard a faint whimper. She stopped in her tracks and looked around.
"Hello?" She called looking around.
A sniffling sound came from behind her. She quickly turned around. It first came as a shock when she saw a girl crying on her knees. Then she recognized her. Marinette took a step towards her, and she reached out her hand in an attempt of comfort.
"Hey, are you okay?" Marinette asked, concerned.
The girl looked up and, for a moment, she looked shocked to see the bluenette. Her lips parted, and her eyebrows rose to meet her chestnut brown bangs in a look of surprise. The girl stared at Marinette, who gave her a concerned look with an outstretched hand towards her.
"...you."
The girls face contorted into a look of hatred. A heavy glare was plastered on her face as she swatted Marinette's extended arm away. She heaved herself up and rose to meet Marinette's eyes. The girl with the auburn hair towered above Marinette as she stared into the bluebell eyes with a tear-stained face.
"Lila..." Marinette whispered.
"That's the name."
Marinette felt the space around crushing her with intense weight. Her knees wanted to buckle under Lila's stare. Suddenly, dark purple swarms of butterflies fazed into existence around them. Their wings flapped viciously as they surrounded the two girls. They then engulfed Lila like a tornado, it's winds menecingly loud and strong. The butterflies dispersed just as fast as they had gathered.
Lila stood with the same glare. Long fox ears protruded out of her head. Her regular clothing was replaced by a brown spandex fox suit with a stubby long tail visible from behind.
Marinette lightly stepped back as she gasped, and Lila moved forward.
"All I've ever wanted was to be accepted so I wouldn't have to be alone. I wanted them to like me. Even if they liked a fake me, it was still me, but you took that away from me. You didn't even care until I talked to your silly little dream boyfriend." Lila said.
"You were lying to them all! How could you expect me to stand by while you lied to their faces!" Marinette exclaimed.
"You were right. I am a liar, but so are you."
Lila pounced to attack, her hand outreaching towards Marinette in a fit of rage. She raised her arms in a defensive instinct, but nothing ever hit as she tripped and stumbled to the ground. A whoosh sound faded into the background as Marinette frantically looked around.
"What?!" A voice called out.
Marinette jumped at the sudden yell.
"Are you kidding me?! Girl, seriously?! You?!" She placed her hand on her forehead and the other on her hip.
