Simple things ~Haruhi x the Host Club~

Chapter 2

"Would you care to join us for some tea, My dark princess?" Tamaki said giving his usual dreamy-eyed look. Imiko rolled her eyes and put two hands on Tamaki's shoulder. 

"I'm not a fan of tea, bags on the other hand..." She put a leg back, and before Tamaki could see what was about to happen. He felt it...the pain only a man can feel, that awful, gut-wrenching pain. He crumpled to the floor, on the verge of tears. Haruhi clapped a hand over her mouth and started laughing. 

"Ooooohhhhhh!" Hikaru and Kaoru winced. Kyoya walked over, looking over Tamaki disappointed. 

"Goodness Tamaki...Miss Omitsu, please refrain from attacking our club members..." 

"Yeah, I'll lay off...It was nice seeing you Har!" She winked and walked away. 

"Are you okay Tama-chan?" Honey said leaning over Tamaki. "Here, let usa-chann make it better!" Honey threw the bunny on Tamaki. 

"Wow that friend of yours-"

"Is really a bad girl, huh?" The twins said wiggling their eyebrows. 

"Yeah, I'd be shocked if she ever settled down." Haruhi said. She walked over and kneeled next to Tamaki. "Sorry, I should've warned you not to hit on her."  Haruhi said laughing. 

"Her leg...its like a cannon..." Tamaki said, eyes still bulging. 

"Yeah, she was a soccer player in middle school. She got a scholarship to the Minami school of field sports. I don't really get why she'd change to Ouran." Haruhi said furrowing her eyebrows. 

"I can answer that." Kyoya said opening his laptop. "According to the news, Minami expelled nearly a quarter of the school because of a string of pranks that kept going on. Based on the stereotype, it stands to reason that she was a high suspect."

"I guess...but her family's worse off than me...and theres five of them...I don't know how she'd afford it." 

"We can worry about that later. For now, we have guests to attend to." Tamaki stood up.

"Haaaaaaahhhhhh!" Honey sighed. "That was exhausting!" He flopped down on the couch. 

"Looks like the boss is still in pain..." Kaoru said pointing to the corner where Tamaki sat, on his hamster home. 

"Look senpai, I know Imiko's strong but it's been like 2 hours. You'd think the pain would be gone by now." Haruhi said rolling her eyes. 

"Actually I don't think Tamaki is actually in pain. Though it's possible he is embarrassed." Kyoya said walking up behind her. Tamaki shot Kyoya a warning glare. 

"EVEN IF THAT'S TRUE YOU DON'T NEED TO SAY IT!" He moped on the verge of tears.

"Hey, how come we never play the which one is Kaoru game?" Kaoru pouted to his brother. 

"Ugh. We've talked about this Kaoru. We gotta bounce boss!" Hikaru said typing on his phone.

"Alright, that's fine..."

"Wanna ride with us Haruhi?" The twins asked in stereo, a dark sort of pleasure haunting their expressions. Tamaki spun his head around. He lunged at the twins who giggled as he tripped on a banana peel Hikaru had pre-set. 

"HOW DARE YOU TALK TO MY LITTLE GIRL LIKE THAT!" He said kicking his feet. He continued throwing a tantrum as Haruhi rolled her eyes. 

"No thanks, guys, I've gotta go to the supermarket anyways." She said reaching for her purse. 

"Aww! We can drop you off!" The twins said batting their eyelashes. 

"I said no!" Haruhi fired back. The twins just shrugged. 

"Eh, you're loss!" They said. They ruffled her hair and walked out the door. Good riddance, Haruhi thought. 

"Anything else you need me to do before I leave senpai?" Haruhi said turning to Kyoya. 

"Well, you could always go and get some more commoners coffee." He said writing in his book. 

"I'll take that as a no?" 

"Um...excuse me?" A girls voice calls. They turn to the door to see a figure shyly standing in the doorway. Raven hair falls to her hips and the high school uniform looks a bit too big on her. Her dark brown eyes are relaxed and unmoving. She hangs her head in embarrassment. She was small, just shorter than Haruhi, she carried herself with poise with her hands clasped behind her back. 

"My, my. I'm afraid we're closed for the day, my princess, but we'd love to get to know you." Tamaki said bowing to her. She straightened. 

"I'm looking for Mitskuni..." She said pushing her bangs to the side. Everyone's expressions changed dramatically. 

"Did she?-" Haruhi trailed off. Even Kyoya's mouth was agape. Nobody ever calls him Mitskuni accept...

"Ahem..." Tamaki cleared his throat. "Honey, you have a guest..." He gestured to the door. Honey's face lit up when he saw the girl. 

"Reiko-sama!" He said standing up. Haruhi and Tamaki cleared the way expecting Honey to run and wrap his arms around her. Instead, Honey stood up politely and walked over giving the girl a shallow bow. "What brings you here?" He said smiling.  

"I'm here to pick you up Mitskuni, is Takashi ready?" She said looking up. 

"Yes, I think he's coming." Honey said. His boy-lolita demeanor was completely gone, he was acting...like a gentleman. 

"I'm here." Mori said carrying Honey's bags. The girl nods and takes Honey's hand. 

"Shall we go?" She asks nodding at the boy. 

"Sure!" Honey said smiling. The three leave and Reiko gives the rest of the room a short bow. 

Kyoya, Tamaki and Haruhi stand in the room, utterly confused. 

"What...just happened?" Haruhi asked scratching her head. 

"I'm not sure, I've never seen her before..." Tamaki said. "Kyoya?" 

"On it...Reiko Kanazuki, heir to the Kanazuki artillery fortune. Second in command of the..." Kyoya trails off. 

"What? What is it?" Tamaki says getting slightly nervous. 

"Second in command of the Black Magic club...the first member being..." The three look over to the door that is strangely only there sometimes. 

"Nekozawa senpai?" Haruhi asked. 

"Precisely." Kyoya said. 

"This could be trouble," Tamaki said. "I mean did you see how formally Honey acted around her...any relation between the two?" 

"Not that I can see, she's in a family photo with Honey and Chika senpai, but nothing else connecting her to them. I'll keep looking." Kyoya said. 

"Or..." Haruhi said.

"Or?"

"We could respect Honey's privacy and not get involved." She shrugged. 

"Pshh! We're the host club, this is what we do!" Tamaki said. Haruhi knew that this was effectively the end of the conversation. 

"Alright then, I'm heading out." She said waving at her cooperates. 

"Alright, Bye Haruhi!" Tamaki called back looking over Kyoya's shoulder. 

"Tamaki?" Kyoya asked. 

"What is it mommy?" Tamaki asked pushing his hair back. 

"Are you actually going to date Haruhi?" He said calmly. 

"I-I..." Tamaki stuttered. 

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the twins are pretty close to winning her favor..." Kyoya sighed scrolling through wikipedia. 

"I...know..." Tamaki said. He realized what was happening and a shallow smile appeared on his face. "What about you?" He asked slyly. Kyoya stopped, he pushed the chill he got off and continued his work. 

"What about me?" He said, a tick mark on his forehead. Tamaki noticed the aggravating tone in his voice and decided to choose his battles. 

"Nothing...forget it..."
