I walk down the hallway with my head high. Passing the many different types of people in this high school I understand why I'm so liked. I am a creative person. I stand out in the sea of strange and very different people.
"Rylan." Someone calls.
I turn and look to see one of my friends walking toward me.
"Hey Hattie! What's up?" I ask with a cheery smile.
"Hey... so... um... I've been having trouble with my part in the play so I was hoping you'd be willing to come early to practice tonight to help me?" She asks.
"Of course!" I exclaim. "Any chance to get more theater in!"
"Ugh." I hear someone groan as they walk by.
I whip around to tell the person off only to see my, um, most disliked person of the school's, back. I open my mouth.
"Save it Rylan. I don't care." Val growls and turns to look at me.
He has a set of headphones over his ears and his hood pulled up to kind of hide his face. Even from under the shadow of his hood, I can see his brown eyes with way too much black eyeliner around them. He turns back around and disappears into his first hour class, which I sadly have with him.
"Ok well thank you Rylan. See you tonight." Hattie says and then runs off toward her class.
I turn and walk into the doorway Val went through seconds before. I make my way to my seat and check my hair in the mirror next to my seat quickly.
"Ugh." I hear Val groan. I turn and shoot him a glare.
"Hello my favorite people ever!" I hear a voice. Val, Lewis, and I all groan. I look over at yet another one of the people I dislike.
"Rylan! My dude! How are you?" Percy asks as he walks toward me and his seat right next to mine.
"Fine Percy." I groan.
"I know I am." He says and grins.
"Shut up, Percy!" Val groans from the back of the class.
"Okay." Percy replies quietly and sits down in his seat.
The teacher walks in and starts the class.
"Today we are learning about..." The teacher starts.
"The process of natural evolution!" Lewis calls out from the back of the class. "I've already memorized the five most important facts about it."
I roll my eyes and look over at my annoying twin brother. Everyone in the class turns to look at him as well.
"I have now realized it wasn't the time for me to yell out. My apologies, Ms.Mourey. Please continue with your lesson." Lewis says and looks down.
This is going to be a long day.
